I bought my ZipZap last Friday (when they were first available) and thought I'd give you all my .02.
I got the 27Mhz Mustang starter kit with the Fast and Furious Upgrade (with the yellow NOS motor, etc.)
These are the coolest things ever! Friends at work are staying late to race on the big conference room table. (Forum member "Latency" is a pal, for those that have read his posts.)
I have run the car in a few configurations, and have found one that seems to work. Believe it or not the 2.3 NOS motor may be too fast, with not enough low-end acceleration / torque. There just may not be enough straight line distance to ever see the faster engines top speeds (at least on the tracks that I run on.) I also went out and bought an orange Microsizer 2.6 motor thinking that it should be faster than the 2.3 NOS motor, but was SEVERELY disppointed.

Not sure why, but it doesn't run well at all and that one may have to go back.
At any rate, there is definitely a performance difference between the various gear setups and motors, and I can now see a real need to change the setup based on the track. At first I figured "faster is always better", but for small tight tracks with lots of turns, lower RPM motors and higher gear ratios may be needed.
The config that worked best for me yesterday (when I beat Latency in the after- work tabletop race) was red gears, red motor, and racing slicks. I also manually modified the suspension to essentially take out all the vertical play in the front by bending the "sway bar" ends down. I honestly cannot see how the different suspensions they offer would realistically make any difference in performance at that weight unless you manually bend them, but what do I know.
I did add some cool race decals to spice up the looks. See the bottom of the following page for the pics of my Mustang:

I would eventually like to add the spring suspension that I have seen on QfM (

Bottom line: If you are not already heavy into Bit CharGs / MicroSizers, GET THESE NOW! They are too much fun!
