VW GTI phase one
Well it's a work in progress. Still have a lot of work to do; wheel wells, windows, touchups, etc. I'm not as happy as I wanted with this body. I had to cut out about 1/2 an inch of the body to make it fit. But it was sitting there doing nothing so I had to try to put it to use. I'll post more pic when its done. Let me know what you think.

Wow, thanks for the responses.
I must admit, it's growing on me. The body kit doesn't fit quite right, but what can you do.

I like it low too but I fear I may have to raise it a bit to get the wheel clearance. I'm going to shave down the wheel wells when I get home form work tonight. Hopefully I can keep it that low.
Some of you should try this. It's a cheap Revell kit from Wal-Mart. They have a BMW 320i that would be so sick if you cut it down. My wallets empty, thats why I cut this old body down. Thanks again everyone, I'll finish it up soon and post pics.

that is going to be an impressive xmod when it's done. you have to put a light kit in that, looks like you could even fit 5mm leds upfront....

It looks great already !!!...If you can't get the wheel clearence that you want then turn the body into a drag car if you into drag-racing...Just a thought...

I got the body mounted and it turned out pretty good. The wheel gap turned out almost perfect. I'll post pics of all my bodies when I get back from vacation. I'm actually going to buy this kit again and redo it. I like the way it came out but it could be a little cleaner. This was my first attempt and the body was already painted and 80% put together when I decided to cut it down. So I'll redo it when I get a chance. Thanks for the compliments guys, I appreciate it. Hopefully I'll have the pics up by early next week. HAVE A GOOD THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!!
