Do a search in one of the bit forums or the zipzap forums. Basically they replace the transistors on the PCB with MOSFETs that have lower internal resistance. Less resistance means more current gets to the motor and it goes faster.

Actually if you look up mini z fets you will find a lot more about them, and what they do. Basically it's a switch that can limit the amount of current going thru it. As you get a better one, or more of them, it's easier to pass the current thru in a controlled way.
It really comes into play when you have a motor that demands a lot of power, and it "pulls" current thru the fet and heats it up. There are motors you can get that will fit these things that will pull 2 amps!
That's why you would want to upgrade- it'll keep the circuts from litterally burning up.

Unfortunately, It looks as though there is not enough room on the PCB for more. I'm gonna try and make an external turbo from Radio Shack MOSFETS . Should work pretty well.

mini z turbo?
Have you guys looked at the mini z turbos? There are about 4 or 5 companys that make them, and they may work- Most cost from $12 to $25 and they are supposed to plug in on the mini z's- not bad for something that already exists, and may just plug in.
how much different can it be?
anyone messed with one?
