lamborgini set and a fet modded car
I recently recieved in the mail a super bit charge lamborgini set and a mosfet modified original bit celica, modded by the man himself, "micro_Amps", from Australia.
The lambo set is nice. Good speed and responsive. I'm going to take it out today and test the range. It's 27mhz"C". But as much as I like lambos, the celica modified by micro_Amps completely blows it out of the water. It has the most torque I've seen in any micro rc. Extremely fast. I recomend getting with micro_Amps and getting your car fet modded to anybody.
I was extremely impressed with the workmanship. The job was clean, durable, and the best part is that it doesn't change the shape or take up any extra space, so there's plenty of space to do more mods, like internal dual celling. In fact, to an untrained eye, you can't tell it was even modded.
If you want some info, do a search for "the mod man!". It's on this web site somewhere. It will give you info on how to get a hold of micro_Amps.
Again, thank you micro_Amps! You are a gift to micro r/c.

Just curious, is the Lambo Super Bit set a single speed or booster 2 speed set up. I have several super bits, and have been having problems with the cars accelerating after I take my finger off the accelerator button. Just curious if you experienced this problem with the new Lambo set.
You're right, MICRO_AMPS is the man. Anyone serious about BITs/ZZs should consider getting a FET mod done by Micro_AMPs, it's really worth the time and effort.

1. It's single speed.
2. Yes, it still continues after you let go of the "go" button. That usually happens when you go out of range, but can also happen if you get interference of some sort. The higher rpm motor you use, the worse the problem is.
The new ZZSE also has this function, but it has an adjustment to turn it down or up, like a volume switch. You can effectively turn it down all the way until it's off. My ZZSE came with it turned almost completely off. I left it that way. I really don't see it's usefullness. Especially after you dual cell it and give it a higher rpm motor. It will just keep going until it slams into a wall.
I didn't get a chance to test the range yesturday, but I will definately do it tonight. If the range is above 20ft, it will rarely have this problem. If the range is still about 10ft, then I'll have to give up on the superbits. It's just not worth the hassle if it's not controlable. Besides, if I take an old bit, wich are now cheap, and give it mosfets and an extra cell, then I'll have a much superior car compared to the supers.
The super bit that I did dual cell mod, covers the measly range too quickly. I think all the vibration from the speed of the motor made more interference too. when I dual celled it, the range went down to about 4~6 ft. Combine the range, the speed and the "continuing last command problem", it turned into one of the worst cars I own. A piece of crap, basically. Very fast, but a nightmare to try and control.
I'll check the range tonight for sure and post it tomarrow.

I hear ya' talkin' man. The super bits tease you. They look good and have lots of speed, but they're very difficult to control. I decided not to do a dual cell on mine because I thought it would make the problem worse. I have a Booster Bit with a FET, 4.2 pro motor and a pullback lambo shell on it that I am pretty pleased with. Hopefully, Tomy will figure out that's what most of us want....not a bit that crashes into walls all the time.
I haven't had any problems with the range on my ZZ SE yet. Although, I haven't really run them very much yet. So far, I like their handling and maneuverability, I just wish they had more power.

Range for my super bit lambo set/27mhz"c" is a little under 20 ft. I guess I'll try the dual cell. We'll see if it works well.
Yeah, I like the ZZSE for it's inginuity and control, as well as it's price, but it sure is lacking in the power department. It's pretty sad when a $5 clone with about $2 of extra parts puts a ZZSE in it's dust. Plus, there's no room for modding, so I don't see it getting much faster anytime soon. Although, Crazydave has some good ideas about them. I don't know if you know him, but he posts around here and there. I usually see him on the bit-pimps site. I still don't see them beating the $7 clone though.
