Steering question
Hello people, good to meet you all This is my second post, first one related to Micro R/Cs so please bear with me if I say something stupid
I have just received my super-duper Nissan Skyline GT-R MicroSizer (the Pro one that comes with a 2.2 motor) which I ordered about 2 months ago (Brazilian mail agency sucks ) and I noticed that the turn radius to the right is much smaller than the left turn radius. Is this normal, or is it adjustable through that little white thingy under the chassis? (I dunno its name ) I also noticed that it only goes kinda straight when I put the little white thingy all the way to one of the sides, if I leave it centered it won't go straight. Can anyone shed some light on me please? Thanks a lot!

Sounds like the steering magnet may not be centered. Inside the front assembly, there is a magnet that is used to pull the wheels left or right depending on your controller button press. If that magnet is not centered on the steering arm, you might have more or less steering one way than the other, and centering problems as well. Your options are probably to open the front and re-center and glue the magnet (check out some of the galleries for pictures of how the car looks disassembled before you do this to acclimate yourself with what you are up against)... OR you can simply attempt to return the car as defective. Either way, good luck! If you open the front, BE CAREFUL not to lose the small spring that helps re-center the tires....

Gah I don't want to turn it back, I don't even know if they'll accept it since it's an international order... I'll see if I can take a look at this magnet. Thanks a lot!

Also, if the return/centering spring on the steering magnet holder isn't straight, then you'll get symptoms like the ones you were describing. You want equal resistance on the spring from both sides. Put a dab of super glue on the spring where it connects to/wraps around the plastic. This will make it's steering more consistant as well as keep it on when you're working on it's insides. Nothing worse than trying to find a little tiny spring laying on the floor somewhere. Well, actually herpes is a lot worse, but lets not get technical.
It's kinda basic really, if you think about it. There are other things that will disrupt steering but the main thing that people over-look, is the fact that the spring works as opposite resistance to the magnet system. If it's stronger on one side, then it will have a harder time steering in one direction.

Hey thanks a lot for your responses! I'll wait for my dad to come back from his trip so he can back me up, since he knows much more about this kind of stuff and has years of experience in modelling... Again, thank you!
