Kinds of putty for body kit?
Hi,
I was wondering what kind of putty you recommend for making a body kit. I bought some Squadron Green Putty from my local hobby shop, but it smells bad and makes me dizzy so I don't want to touch it with my fingers.
The green putty was kind of sticky/pasty and not really like play-doh, so I'm not sure if I can even use it to make things such as body kits.
More precisely, I want to use the putty to create a second wheel well for my dual exhaust. Please look at attached picture:
Thanks!

ive found that after using play-doh and baking it, it rox. also, go to a art place of some kind, some kinda art supplies store, they have scentless, easy-to-mold modeling clay. that works just as well. dont try the Tamiya putty, tho. it costs too much, and has a wierd smell to it.

The Squadron stuff is good if you can get past the toulene smell. I'm sure modelling clay and play-doh might work, but if you want to be able to sand and paint it, go with Squadron. Generally, apllying the putty only takes a few minutes and you can wash your hands right after. It dries to a sandable hardness in about an hour.

i prefer the squadron brand over the tamiya putty...
use a putty knife to apply the squadron green....
i used to use small pieces of cardboard, then a small screwdriver, and finally got a couple putty knives.......they work the best for shaping the putty before sanding
