Pencil/pocket torches
has anyone ever bought a pocket torch? like the one from this site. if so, is the quality any good?
I bought a pencil torch a while back and it broke down really quick.
Also, would the pocket torch work for welding small aluminum/brass rods? i know it says so on the site, but i'm wondering what you guys use to weld small pieces of metal and if this would work.

its pretty good until it runs out..........like most butane torches, they are hard to refill.........and even if you do refill it, they wont last long after that......

really? The pencil torches i got weren't that hard to refill. does the lighter have the same refill system?
and do you mean the butane will run out faster if you refill it? or it will break down faster?
thx.

Dude, quit being a post-whore!!!
Anyway, Radio Shack stuff is usually pretty good quality. I wouldn't be afraid of buying that.

i used to sell pocket torches like that just with tricked ut designes.... trust me... there fine someitmes you might end up wiht a crappy one... but if it messes up just take it to your local lighter store and theyll fix it for a reasonable price

id say the coolest torch ive seen is a steel 12-gauge shotgun casing that when you pressed down on the button, it shot a red and blue flame out about 5 inches, and at night, it was glow in the dark blue, like Neon.

i sold ones that were a clear tube with a dragon wrapping around it and the dragons mouth would open,,, and a neon green torch flame would come out of its mouth and the clear tube would light up neon blue and the eyes red....that was the best lighter i sold
