Wire problem...how do i fix it?!?!

Well i just recently bought one of the cars from the lxx char-g skyline set... and when i charged it and all... i started it and it ran for about 2 seconds then stopped. So i tried again same thing. Then i put it on the charger and tried goen, and it went fine didnt stop once. So i figured it wasw prolly a problem with the wire, so i opened it and checked the wire, and it was barely attached and while i was lifting the chip, the lil thread it was hangin on by ripped, so now it duznt even move at all.... how can i fix this? OH and theres still a little bit of the wire left in the chip....

go to your nearest hobbyshop or electronics store and ask if they have that gauge copper wiring...wait, do you mean the steering or antenna? or both?

go to radio shack and get a thicker wire.
i di this and i got more speed. it will be easier to solder back on and slightly faster.

Well, the wire probably needs to be fixed anyways. So solder the wire back first. Copper conducts well so you might want to think about replacing it with copper since you already have it half way out.

Now, if it still doesn't work, then check if the steering works. If the motor doesn't work, but the steering does, then it's most likely the motor. Try reseating the motor a bunch of times. If it still doesn't work, then it's probably a bum motor.

If the steering and the motor both don't work, then check the battery inside. It may have come loose or something. Take it out, clean the pos and neg sides and put it back in. If it still doesn't work try charging it a bunch of times.

If yet still it does not function, then I would need more information.

Also, be careful with the solder job. It's easy to damage the PCB.

well the steeriong works fine the wheels turn and everything.... and the motor too, when it was on rthe charger and i pressed forward the wheels would turn fine.. and really fast. But when it was off it lasted for about 2-5 seconds then just died. at that time the wire was on but barely on, and then when i opened it, it got disconnected. so i know it cant be the motor or the steering but im afraid of takin out the battery cant that be risky?

A little risky the first time, but you'll get used to it. Just don't make sudden, jerky moves.

Sounds like you're gonna have to get that wire soldered back on. If you're not comfortable with soldering then I would take it to someone who wouldn't mind doing it (friend/relative/COMPUTER REPAIR STORE).

The reason it works on the charger is because when it's on the charger, it's using the charger's batteries to run the car. It doesn't use the car's battery while on the charger.

If it's running into a problem charging, then it will work on the charger just fine, but will poop out off the charger.

Again, get that wire fixed before you do anything else.
RULE # 1: ONE MODIFICATION AT A TIME.

If you do too much at one time, you may never figure out what you did to fix/break the car.

It sounds like the battery died. If you can you might want to just send it back and get a new one. If that's not an option, you can get a 200mAH NiMH from www.toyeast.com for like $5 shipped.

can anyone please help me? i just got my tinyrc shipment with the yellow skyline r34 body, bitchar-g 3.8 motor, microsizer gearset, and tires. when i installed the motor with the stock gears, it made this horrible hi pitched squaking noise, when i put the different gears in, it still made the noise, but when i put the stock 2.2 motor in with the hi speed gears it worked fine! whats wrong with my motor?

i don't think its the battery because ti was never used.. bran new in the box. The guy who sold it to be sed he'd give me the full refund or a free car... but id have to pay for shipping...to hong kong which is about 10$ us and i live in canada. SO im not considering that option.... but the wires not even attached shoudnt that be the problem?
