Rear Axle Removal

Just got one of these things. My rear axle is full of carpet thread, anyone know how to take it off for cleaning?

No need to remove your axle, just pull off the rear wheels........or, what's even easier is tweezers!

Well.. Yes, but i can only remove what i can see, and i know there's more in that spacer .
