How do you resin cast? Also, what supplies are needed?

That Alumilite tutorial is the best. I found that a while ago and was able to cast my first car body just by looking at the pictures.

AJ what part of michigan are you in? I'm in the north part of pontiac.

I havn't got into casting yet (thinking about it) I'm to focused on my wonder machine (taig mini-mill) but I work with a guy that does alot of casting and is an excellent custom model maker.

I'm from New Baltimore/ Mt. Clemens not to far from you. Hey, get together with that guy you know and make some custom shells, to go along with your custom chassis, the more the merrier.

micro,

check out this post.

http://www.tinyrc.com/forums/showthr...&threadid=9366

it lists many of the supliers of resin casting materials. I have also posted on all of the different materials that i have experienced with. some are a lot cheaper than others and produce the same results..

so far the cheapest ive found is the tap plastics RTV casting rubber. its a straight up 50:50 mix. and has no harsh chemical smell... although none of the ones ive tried have had a harsh smell... it is not silicone. it is slightly firmer than silicone. the specs for it are on tap plastics site..

i am a tap plastics fan because i live near a tap plascics and can go in and have questions asked by the people that do this for a living. its also one of the cheapest that ive found out there.

Micromark makes a great quality product also. but i was on a budget...
