is there any way i can get stronger steering out of my microsizer? is there a different type of magnet that is already cut to the shape that has a larger magnetic current or sumfin?

even if you were to modify your BC-G with a stronger magnet, the wheels would still go left or right the same way because when the magnet is pulled to one side, the wheel turns as far as it can go.

If anything wouldn't a stronger magnet improve steering response time? By this I mean the time from you pressing a direction to the time it starts the turn (it should also ensure that the turn is as tight as possible). It should also improve steering at slower (near standstill speeds) when the magnets have trouble twisting the tire on the surface due to friction.
Heh, it'd be cool if you totally lost friction with road surface due to metaphorically turning the wheel so hard and fast that you just spin out and 360 :P
Or I could just be glorifying a 2 1/2" car.

Stronger steering solution
For stronger steering, increase the current. The stronger the voltage that goes to the steering coils, the stronger the steering. Do a 2.4v mod and your steering will improve immediately... not to mention your 1.0 motor will run like 2.6!

QFM Racing, thanks for the tip, I hadn't considered the effect of the mod on the steering!

Another solution...
Forgot to mention replacing your stock magnet with a stronger "REAL EARTH" magnet. These magnets are naturally occuring magnetic material in the earth that have a stronger attraction than fabricated magnets that the Bits use. Fortunately, they come in a size almost similar to the one in the Bit at your local radio shack. Not a perfect fit, but very similar. Downside, is its more expensive than a manmade magnet.

Rare Earth magnets..
We havent tested them yet because we havent figured out a way to mount them that we are happy with. Its either we shave the magnet down (I dont know if this will negatively affect the magnets power or not) or modify the harness that the stock magnet is on. We are open to suggestions as well. Take at look at the magnet and let us know if you have any ideas. Our emphasis is on clean mods (yes, even though this part cant be actually be seen when assembled).
Radio Shack Item info:
Rare-Earth Super Magnets
$1.59 Reg. Price
Cat.#: 64-1895
see pic here:
http://www.radioshack.com/images/Pro...64/64-1895.jpg
There are a ton of sites that give info about them. try these:
1. http://www.rareearth.org/
2. http://www.dansdata.com/magnets.htm
The second site has great info on how to apply this stuff to motors toys etc. and has great pictures that show the true power of a rare earth magnet.
This will eventually become a new mod on Questformadness.com but we are back in fall session at college and its become harder to find time to update the site. Sorry, for taking so long to post "striderpunk" and I hope this helps.

Sounds cool QFM. What's your opinion on replacing the electromagnetic actuators as well? Those seem to be the easiest parts to break when tinkering with the electronics.
