MS Pro dual cell problem
I just did a dual cell mod to my MS pro today, but there's a problem. i replaced the stock 50mah nicad with 2 150 mah nimh batteries in series, everything seems fine, but the car only runs when its on the custom charger. when i take it off, it works for about 3 seconds then dies. anyone else had this happen, or know what i can do to fix it tomorrow?

If it works off the charger with lots of speed the only thing that would make this happen is charging the car for only a few seconds. How long are you charging the car for? You should charge it for like 2 to 2 2/1 minutes. It all depends on what charger you are using.

im using a 3AA battery holder soldered to the regular charging station, which i took out of the controller. another thing, the first time i charged the car up, the internal battery started making a crackling like noise that kept going for about 30 minutes (but the second battery did nothing). any idea why that would happen?

My theory is that since the car only runs when its on the charger, and for about 5 seconds after that, is that the car is running off the charger's 3AA batteries when the car is running, and that the nimh batteries aren't getting charged at all. i'll check it with my multimeter tomorrow at school, but does anyone know why that would happen?
btw is there any way i can move this topic to mods and projects? i meant to post it there but i did it here by accident.

well when my insulater on the negative contact to block the battery for touching gets pushed dow and i charge it it make a sizzeling sound

Are they in the right polarity?
I've heard of this prob being diagnosed by turning the bats around
