Clones that are being Cloned

well, they have done it again. clone cars that are now cloned by other companies because the "other companies think that Rally Racers, Precious and Panthers are brand names. silly kids!

anyway, the 3 above cars are now being cloned. the cloned clones suck turtle poo so know this before you get suckered into spending your money on one.

how do i tell them apart?

glad you asked. the easiest way is the REAL clones (haha that sounds funny) are in domes. the FAKE clones are usually oval shaped. actually, everyone that i have seen has been a oval so far. they come with stand-alone chargers or railings or something to entice you to buy their product.

most of the bigger cloned brands stopped making the mini rcs because they aren't selling what they were during the holidays so they think it's a dead fad. and by the time these new FAKE clone companies got around to production of mini rc cars the so-called fad was over and now they have a crap load of cars to move.

i bought 3 of them at a flea market. they are crap and the parts are crap to! so much for buying them for parts. the batteries hardly last and the motors burned out after about 3 hours of play time. the bodies are usually solid and not clear and are really heavy. if you buy these, you might as well start collecting Barbies.

post any of your experiences here, but from everyone i heard of and from my own opinion. crap is what it is.

well ive seen 2 or 3 different batches of "super racing" that varied from suck to really suck. the last clone i got was at burlington coat factory(very generic packaging) in a dome and it kicks serious booty.

That sounds like the Cannonball clones I always find and that Toys R Us has right now, with the oval dome, separate charger, and pylons, road sign, and a couple barriers thrown in.

The quality is basically crap, but out of the 3 I've bought 1 was really good. The motors vary, but I got 1 that is faster than my Perfection 3.0, one that is probably a 2.6, but really torqey, and one with a dark blue endbell that was different from the others that is not as fast, probably comparable to a 2.4.

The batteries are good, 100mAh NiMH. They get short runtime because of the harsh 4.5 volt zap from the charger, but when I charge these batteries with 2 cells, using my volt meter to detect peak, they have a very consistant charge rate, take a high voltage, and run for about a half an hour using a 3.8. That's on track with the 100mAh rating because stock Tomy NiCd run for about 20 using the same charging method., and they're actually taking about 75 mAh

The gears are noisy, but give the option of a 7.2:1 ratio. The high gear ratio also kills the runtime.

And if these cars are same as the Cannonball ones, and it sounds like they are, I don't know if I'd call them clones of clones, as they were selling back in November when I got my first one, and they have the Bensu logo on the controller, and the "S/T Racing" sticker that I see on a lot of the dome cars. So I think this is just another variation of sub-par junk coming out of the same factory.

It's like someone here once said, they are probably knocking these things out 24/7, so when one bin of parts runs out, they just move over a new one. Out of Cannonball labels? We're making Rally Racers now!

Your right, they probably are not the same as the Cannonballs, but the packageing sounds the same, so I'm still betting that they are coming from the same factory.

sorry but this is off topic but i HAD TO TELL THIS. my friend isnt into the cars and he only has some ****ty cloned-clone called MEGATOYS. the body sucked it was plain white and heavy and didnt even clip onto the car if you took it off the body. i broke the back clip!! ne way i asked if i cud have it for the parts even tho the motor sucked because when i charged it, it ran for 2 minutes max (1 minute running on the ground 1 minute held upside down). plus the motor skipped gears too so that was hella gay. i didnt kno why i took it. but when i got home i took apart some of my broken lxx's. i switched the back heat sink clips. the rod where the idler gear slides onto. next i soldered a new motor contact from my old lxx chassis. i put back the old motor which i think is 2.2-2.6 somewhere in there like all clones. then i put an lxx yellow supra body and some cheap lxx gears which are loud as hell. i charged it and when i put it on the floor......................... IT BECAME THE BEAST OF ALL BEASTS!!! IT WAS FLIPPING OVER IN TURNS ALREADY AND WAS HELLA FAST. i thought it was just the motor or the gears. so i put a 1.6 and the original gears and it STILL WAS HELLA GOOD. goes to show you with a little work it all pays off. to tell you the truth this car turns, speeds, and accelerates faster than my MS PRO, MS SPORT, PANTHER, and my BITCHAR-G. all with 3.8 perfections. all i need is 1 more 3.8 perfection for my new car to add to my line. right now i took my bitchar-g's 3.8 cuz im tryin 2 fix it. only thing i gotta tell you is DONT DO LAYMANS TRI-CELL UNLESS ITS A CLONE. clones have longer wires for more extended possibilites of mods. bitchar-g's break easily.srry for the long msg im just really suprised how 10 mins of work turned out 2 be my best car which i got free. haha i cant wait to brag to my friend how i fixed his car 2 the best car i have. =)

Good post, Calsonic_racer. I agree with what your saying. I got one Cannonball clone that wasn't that bad, and after transplanting one of the steering coils, and a little finesseing, it also one of my best cars.

Clones are great for projects, and I love projects.

Calsonic,

why get a 3.8 perfection when RCmod now has the new Phast Motors brand motors in? let the n00bs play with the 3.8s.

clearing out my camera disk to make room to take those clone pics. i want to get them up soon for you guys though. just old and slow. haha
