Interesting...usually the bigger the mAH rating, the longer the battery will provide current. So if a stock battery is 100mAH, and people have been replacing them with 150mAH to get longer run times....putting a 50mAH in should DEcrease the run time. Hmmmmm. I'm confused Stridex...sometimes you seem to know quite a bit about these things...and then in some posts you seem completely different...are you sure you are the same person posting under your name?

Anyway, I'm curious about these "wonder" batteries...put a meter on it someone.

I know very little about the batteries, but it looks like Tiny had the same experience. I too am charging them with a stand alone charging pad. But, I do this with both batteries and the 50mAh lasts much longer and stronger then the stock ZZ batt. Could be that it's a NiCD. Like I said above, I know very little about what all that actually means.

[edit] With every car I tear apart, mod I do, posts I read, I get a little bit more knowledgable. See...you just taught me about the mAh's. Now I can carry that knowledge onto the next individual that needs help with that topic. With your explanation of how the mAh's work, you're right, my post doesn't make any sense. I've just noticed they're much more powerful and last a lot longer then the ZZ stocks I charge the same way. Can you explain the difference between the NiCD's and the others? Another reason I love these batteries is they hold a charge. I can come back to them in an hour and the thing will still have juice. Almost as if It didn't lose a single drop of energy. The ZZ stocks are always dead by that time. [/Edit]

Hi peeps,,

I hear that NiCd is more tolerant of charging under the "wrong" conditions (wrong voltage,, wrong milli-amp rate,, blah blah) than the better NiMh batteries. NiMh is the better battery, but needs to be carefully charged to keep them really happy. Check out the thread on "peak charging" for more info.

Perhaps this might explain why you get better results with the supposed inferior battery.

just my .02
