wud a 10 cell ZZ work?
just a thought but how many volts does it take to mess up your pcb??? im planning on putting 10 batteries in mine hehehehe. 4 in the inside, 2 on top of my eclipes convertable, 2 on the back verticle wise in front of the spoiler, and 2 on top of the wheelie bar again verticle wise. i dont care if it doesnt turn i just want a drag car thats safe. would it work w/o messing up the pcb?

I've heard that when you jump over 5v and start heading to 6v is when you will fry your pcb.

DAMN so these things can only take 4 batteries max? that sux..... wut if instead of putting 10 normal nimh batts i put 10 laymans cells inside the car so it looks stock wud that work???

if u wire the forward to trip a transistor, you can have the transistor in a circuit loop where it would allow 10 cells to run the motor. btw.....this 3.5 motor i have heated up the barely touchign stainless steel heatsink on my zipzap after giving it a tricell so dunt be surprised if you melted your motor after a short run...

5 volts is max rating for the cicuit board, that means 4 cells.
You could use a Relay to get more cells to the motor. Just power the pcb with 2 laymans cells and you should be able to run as many batts as you want to the motor.
Although, the more cells you run to the motor, the faster it will burn up!

damn that stinks...... so 4 is the max w/o modding the pcb or anything plus i run the risk of melting my heatsink ontop of my 2fast 2 furiouse 3.4 nos motor. but i dont catch what u guys mean by tripping the wires or this relay things its really confusing for a 14 year old lol.

even once you got 10 cells worth of voltage going to the motor, would it even be worth the weight you're putting on your car? you can't carry enough water to make it across the desert, you know.

yeah i used a half broken zip tonight (chassis was melted, but in working condition) to try and hitch a lego trailor to the back of it with a 4AAA battery holder wired to the pcb. lol it seemed like a cool idea at the time turns out i burned out forwards somehow, had no good torque, couldnt turn worth shnit, and the gears constantly slipped

i know the weight problem but if i used 10 laymans cells it would be as light as 3 and 1/3 batteries. but forget that idea i just wanted a good 3 cell zip speed with maybe a 5 or more cell run time.any ideas to get that to work?

Why not try a triple cell using those 200mah batts from toyeast? Combine that with a peak charger and off you go. I get at least 30 minutes of runtime with my standard zip batt and a 2.8 motor using my peak charger.

they need to make a custom pcb that can take up to 24v

p.s. they have lithium coin cells that are recharable somewhere that run at 3v run about 4 of them probly = to 1 or 2 stock batterys and watch your power house fly
