I increase the suspension travel by sawing off (shorten) the chassis's "lower swing arm stopper"
Battery was moved to a scratchbuilt carbon fiber upper deck. ESC and receiver is now at where theoriginal battery once sat
Old ESC and receiver position was removed to clear the bigger monster wheels. Like wise on the rear
Tires are from Tamiya Wild mini 4wd, thinned the rim and forced fit (plus super glue) onto original Mini X wheel

Monster Mini X
When I tried running it, no acceleration!!!! Too heavy? The weight seems OK. But when I fit a 7.2V battery, it begin to move! Still horrible. Anyway my order of the 36T diff arrived and hopefully that will solve the problem and with the newer stock ESC I am praying....

you can try the FET upgrade of the stock esc and run a better motor. that should help, it will let you run 16amps vs the stock 8. i that helps gettin that moster moving. i am also tryin to get my minix offroad worthy but you have me beat by miles :P
great work on that, i hope to hear more from you

I have created the ultimate mini-x power hop-up. Email me at lonestarmotorsports@yahoo.com and I will give you details. I guarantee it will give you the power you need to get monster truck running strong.

Off road use?
Hi 3seriesTakumi,
I too also will like mine to be able to run off road once I solve the power problem, my stock ESC got no place to add FET, mine its the first generation ESC. To make it go off road first you must give some protection to your gears
What I did was to seal up the "gearbox" with simple plastic sheet. I took mine from a Overhead Projector Film.. those that you put them into a photocopier.. Use glue or double sided tapes. The underside are taped up first. I believe you should be able to see it in one of my pictures.
Suspension travel is improved by a mere 3mm of travel, but the big fat tires gives added ground clearance. More travel can be achieved if there is a longer dogbones
I wish to mod it with oil shock like those seen in Suki's but "no time & no money" All the mod there are from my spare Tamiya Wild Mini 4wd, Dungan racer and Mini4wds and
To cool the motor I added cooling fins. Again from those Tamiya Mini4WDs

modelmotobikes,
You should be able to add the FETs by removing the old FETs from your PCB, soldering the old FETs directly to the new FETs (the new ones will have longer leads) and then soldering the set back onto the board.
