I know you guys will want to see a pic of this and I am endeavoring to get webspace setup but....
I have a twin internal cell bit that is about 12 months old and has done heaps and heaps of miles and too many rear axel changes. When the rear axel stopped meshing when turning around corners I needed to come up with an idea that will keep the axel in place and still let me change the gear ratios every once in a while. This is what I did.
I got a strip of thin sheet metal about 5mm (1/4") wide and 8mm long and drilled a 2.5mm hole near one end. If you turn the car over, at the back under the motor are two holes in the plastic chassis. I shaped and trimmed the strip of metal so that when I put it up against the chassis it just touched the axel and the hole in the strip was over the hole in the chassis. Then I used a 2.5mm thread screw, 2mm long, and fastened the strip to the chassis. The ground clearance is fine and the axel meshes all the time now, I can even back-off the screw and swap axels if I want to. The chassis might even get a second one of these strips if the other side wears out too. These might even double as auto charger contacts that are mentioned in other strings on this site.
I hope from this you can work out how I fixed my axel slakness problem

I used jb weld and it worked excelent. just but a little bit in the center of the axcel only wait about 4 hours spin it loose then wait another 3 hours and it will work great.

Loose axel repair solution
OK, this is how I fixed the loose axel problem on my fave bit.
This is how the clip looks when it is drilled and bent into the right shape.
This is how it is when screwed onto the bottom of the chassis into one of those holes under the motor. It is setup so that the axel has just a tiny amount of movement, and doesnt drag on the axel.
This is the ground clearance. No change to the clearance as it is a very thin steel strip.
For those of you wondering what kind of car this was done on, it is an original Tomy Bit Char-g, modded to be a twin internal cell. The car pcb was flipped over and the cover drilled to allow the components to stick out. Turned out ok dont you think?

Hogjowlz, it doesnt cause any friction because it doesnt actually touch the axel, it is bent so that it is just clear. The only time it would touch the axel is when its turning a corner and my axels are lubed just a touch with Tamiya ceramic grease so they are really slippery anyway.
bwsk8, sorry I dont have a pic under the pcb, but it is 2 x 150mAh 1.2v cells laying accross the chassis. The inside was dremmeled out a bit to allow the cells to fit. Its not unlike other internal twin cell bits.
