belt drive mini x

has anyone thought of making the mini x belt drive like the micro rs4. i think the diffs have room to fit a belt in front of the crown gear. it is just an idea. if you have any idea how to make this dream come true feel free to post.

Making it belt-drive without a lot of tranny gears would be tough, unless you want to to it up like a Micro RS4. Even then it would be tough.

i need more ideas

i was thinkin of puttin the electronics in the middle or back somewhere and mounting the motor in the front. the receiver could go in the place where the motor originally mounts.

I think the easiest way would be to put the belt down the middle, switching the diff gear for pulleys. Then the motor is moved all the way to one side of the chassis, and contacts a spur gear on the rear diff (Ala Micro RS4 diff), either a right-andle spur or a series of gears to clean the suspension and wheel.

I can't see much advantage to going to a belt drive: No matter what you do there are more gear/belt-pulley surfaces that with the stock tranny.
