Shen Qui Wei/ Panther problem
I know the title is lacking, first I am not to sure what I have, the bullet say Shen Qui Wei , but the recipt says it a Panther, this is my first mirco racer so I don't know if there is a difference or not,
anyways on the problem, I bought 2 of them and they both seem to have the same problem, I charge them they go really slow(thought this might me a motor deal the guy said they were 1.2's)but then they just stop.if I bump them they will do again, is this normal behavor? or should I be taking them back?
Thanks

My 3.0 motors did that all of the time. You could bump it and it would go fine until you stopped and then you would have to bump it again. Replace the motors with something like the perfection 3.8 or the r spec and you will be good to go.

my suggestion would be KIT racer motor.. cheap, fast, and torquey.. of course not R-sepc or 3.4, 3.5 fast.. but very torquey...
new motor = the way to go... IMO tho

Then just go buy you a few perfection 3.8's and maybe even a nimh upgrade battery and you will be happy. I just received my 2 perfection 3.8's and 2 nimh 160 batteries for more dual and tricel action. But the 3.8 perfection in my skyline with a few mods is my best handling driving car I own.

AMEN ! The perfection 3.5 is a great motor!
Darius, how are your gears meshing? Sometimes this happens when you have a low RPM motor and the gears don't sync up properly. How do they sound? Noisey?

I had the same problem with a clone, it would stop for no good reason. So I ran it with the body off to see if the gears where locking up. It stopped I picked it up to check gears, by chance I squeezed the heat sink and it started again. I found that the motor wasn't making good contact. So I took the motor out bent the contacts to make better contact, problem solved. But I agree with the other guys get a faster motor. Speed=more fun

The gears seem fine, I checked all the contacts and bent them to try to make better contact, this did not help, I am going to head back to the place in the mall I bought it from, I think I got 2 bad ones, I know they have the Shen 1.2 in them and from what I have read on the forum seems most shens have 2.0+ in them when they are stock, so I think this place might have some old discontinued pos's , I really appretiate the help that all of you have given me, and I will most definatly get some faster motors and new batts but I want to make sure I get good working cars first, IMO all the neeat go faster, perform better parts don't amount to anything in a car that doesn't roll....

x.x means nothing. different motors from the same batch are not going to perform equally. also a motor could be a 8.3 and have almost no torque. that is misleading. also ive never seen a rating on any clone package.
