hey Supra!
I have been interested in decals for some time but dont have the proper materials at the moment.
I do design and stuff, and I was wondering if someone were to make a design (say in photoshop) would you be able to print them and mail them? if yes, what size pic / resolution would you prefer??

Swavey.
You should contact Spanky from the earlier post and ask him how he does it at Kinko's. That way you won't have to wait and you can print as many as you want.

I just recieved my Impreza decals today, but they don't show up on my black body, so I had to throw away the two decals I had already put on the car. Does anyone know how to make these show up?

decals
Yo swavey,
I have an Alps printer, so I can print white. I have been making waterslide decals for a long time.
If you send me a photoshop file, I can make a set for you. If you can send me an Adobe Illustrator file, even better.

El Rojo, I've been thinking about getting an alps 5000. Is it easy to find white ink cartridges for it, or any color cartridge for that matter. I don't want to buy that printer and not be able to buy ink for it.

No offense man, but I bought decals from supra for my WRX and the decals hardly even show up. I guess they had a clear backing or something. I didn't even know and felt like I wasted $3.
I haven't tried any other sets that I bought from him so I can't say anything about them. If they come out good I will let everyone know.

thats because you put them on a dark background. because these decals are so thin, they are not completely opaque. so to get the best results from them you should try to put a lighter color behind the decal.. im not saying to paint your car lighter, just behind the decal.
another option is to adjust the amt of ink on the paper.. although im not sure you can do this with a laser( just depends on the printer) but with most inkjets you can set the ink volume to heavy or light.. the heavier the ink, the less chance of other colors coming through.. provided its not a transparent ink.

hmmmm...
i'll try that custombit.
i wasn't trying to dis the man's business, but $3 down the drain sucked.
i'll try the lighter cars next time. maybe Supra could put a warning label on his auctions stating that they don't work on dark cars or something.

look at my website.. on the main page at the bottom, there is a rusty wallace car, its dark metallic blue, you can see on the decal on the hood i painted behind the decal in the center, but not the flames, so you cant see the flames, as well as many other decals. the ones that show up good are the ones with white paint behind them.
anyway its an example of what i was talking about.... (i think the car kinda sucks though.. )
