those are the same thing. slot car detailers and modelers use these also. the reason that they dont last as long as the ones that you get with the model is that the guy probgably did not seal them on the paper with some clear spray. once printed they have to be sealed onto the paper, even if your using a laser printer. these decals do last very long if you put a coat of clear on them.

they are the same type that you would get with a plastic model... i have been using them for a while now. they work great.

could i spray the clear coat right on to the decal sheet, then cut them out, put them in water, and put them on my car??

thats whats supppse to be done... once they are printed you are supposed to spray them with clear, here are the instructions thta i just scanned. if you were to buy the paper it comes with this.

Hey guys!

Thanks for the kind comments. I've been out of the scene lately cuz I just moved. Now that I'm settled, I can concentrate on designing more decals. Next on my list are decals for Hondas and Toyotas. Any other suggestion, please let me know.

Now for the clear coat issue. I suggest you spray on a clear coat AFTER you put it on your car. The reason why is because if you spray clear coat before you apply the decals, it will make the decals stiff and difficult to place, position, and mold on the car body.

i really like the decals- they make any car look great! I bought a sheet of them from you on ebay, but before i could even put the clear coat on, the decal on the windsheild chipped. I have no idea how it happened because i wasnt even using the car. WOuld it be possible for you to send me another decal for the windshield? I would be happy to cover any shipping charges.

yea i agree with spraying after you apply also.. but if you use a inkjet printer, and dont spray with clear befor you apply. the ink will come off the decal. there are very few inkjet printers that have waterproof color ink. I have yet to notice the decals being stiff after applying clear coat. the purpose of spraying clear on the decals befor applying them is to seal the ink to the paper.. if your using a laser printer to print your decals waiting to apply clear may work. but IT WILL NOT WORK WITH AN INKJET. You really need to follow the directions for the specific decals your using.. i dont mean to step on your toes SupraCruza, this is just what i have learned from experience. if your using a inkjet that the ink dosent run, let us know.. im using a hp deskjet 940c, and a inkjet 1200c(old ass printer)

if your applying to a curved surface, i use a q-tip to press into place and hold it there for a second. this helps it form and also wicks away moisture helping it bond/stick. once all this is done.. you still need to spray another coat of clear to seal them to the car..

yea, i have can use the color laser also (Sharp ARC-150), i would go to kinkos to use their machines, but this sharp is better than any of the color lasers at any of the copy places around me... but i get better results, from my inkjet, and thats why i went with it(able to achieve much smaller detail) although the ink may run if you dont clear coat it.. anyway.

nice decals SupraCruza, hmm...it would be cool if you (or anyone else) can make SPOON decals for S2000's. It would look awesome and i would certainly buy a sheet.

edit- or you can make some Calsonic Skyline decals...mmm..sooo nice! and it would be great because people wouldnt have to buy a BCG set just to get the body.

I use a color laser to create these decals. They WILL NOT run, so it's safe to spray before or after you apply the decals. I suggest spraying a clear coat AFTER, since spraying a coat on before makes the decals a little harder to apply.

let me get this strait, i have a DeskJet 895cxi, so i should put the decals on the body BEFORE i spray? Or should i spray the sheet, then apply?

spray first.. your using a inkjet printer. ink jet ink is not waterproof. if you dont spray when you put the decal in the water you will see the ink coming off the decal.. but since your using a inkjet you need to spray befor you apply the decal.

SupraCruza, was right on the money with not spraying the laser decals.. laser printers melt/bind the ink(toner) to the page with heat. this type of ink is not water soluable, so only needs to be sprayed once on the car..

either case you should spray once the decal is on the car, this will protect it and seal it to the car so that it doesent flake off.
