What else are we all into?
All this talk lately about other things we're into, here's some of the things that have occupied my fancy...
Electronics:
- Some time ago I picked up a 'Basics of Electricity' book and geared up a little on some Electronics theory
- Today I ordered an Electronic Learning kit MX-909 to put some of the theories in application and learn even more
- Picked up this cool Digital MultiMeter some time ago to test the different voltages and amps and such of just about EVERYTHING electronic...I LOVE this thing!
- Couple of days ago I ordered the Xport SLX Electric Scooter...There's another guy here at work that's into the e-scooters and has a Masters in EE. As you can imagine we talk all the time, now I'm gonna SMOKE his butt with my scooter (his scooter is WEAK! )
- I'm SEROUSLY drooling to get a Legos Mindstorms: Robotic Invention System! I've ALWAYS loved Legos and now that I've got a new fascination with Electronics it's just NATURAL for me to covet the RIS! I'll eventually pick it up.
Other Interests:
- Web design
Besides my own (in sig) I'm helping some friends build theres, there's SO MUCH you can do with HTML (and php, cgi, pl, and so on) there really is NO limit to it.
- Digital Photgraphy
I have the Canon D30 (digital SLR) with a 35mm-80mm, a wide angle and a 100mm-300mm zoom and just recently bought a Speedlite 420EX flash for it. With the 1gig IBM Microdrive I can take almost 800 pictures! I LOVE this thing!
- Pocket PC
I have an AudioVox Maestro and here and there I pick up on some cool things to do (like making e-books) but my interest sways with these things...It's great for holding all my info and playing games on while waiting for the subway though!
- Graphics (Photoshop)
Well, nothing artistic in particular...Mostly just taking pictures of coworkers and working their heads into gay porn shots or anything else freakish! the particular person I do it to doesn't take too kindly to it, but everyone else thinks it's funny!
- Stikfas!
This COOL little action figures (same size as Star Wars figures) are SUPER poseable and just an overall awesome creative outlet!
Alright, that about sums up what's occupying my brain at any given time lately.
Share, I'm always open to new and cool things to check out!

My interests besides the micro RC's (Bits, Epoch, Mini-x)
1) The new Mini Cooper, soon to own hopefully.
2) Linux and security of computer (yes this is just a hobby until a nice cool company hires me to do more).
3) Case modding for my computers.
And some more I'm sure i forgot about. Someday I'll be a moderator...maybe.

even though I've heard it's spacious, it's got no cargo area, like our Xterra which has loads of cargo.
Oh well, I can dream about the powder blue Mini.

Not sure how much space you really need, but your heights will work with out a problem! they fit my friend comfortably (6'3" 300lbs)
Also the rear seats fold down and you can easily fit a 32" tv in the back....
man i sound more like a salesman....i need more money to buy it!
Off to the job search pages i go.

hmmm....lots. Ok here goes:
- Used to be into comic collecting (stopped after I started loosing interest in the story lines). I have some semi-valuable ones but nothing spectacular. I have one that used to be worht 80 bucks but then quickly lost value to 25 bucks...ugh...but oh well. So goes life.
- Video games (I guess it's a hobby hehe). Most PC lately but I have plenty of console stuff (Atari 2600, NES, SNES, DC, PS2 wish I had more LOL).
- Some digital photography with my Nikon Coolpix 900 (yea yea I know...1.3 megapixel...not that great...takes decent pics). Though I'm also somewhat into regular photography and for that I have an Asahi Pentax Spotmatic (again...oldie but a goodie).
- Used to be heavy into RPGs and War Gaming (mostly Battletech at first but then got hooked on Warhammer fantasy battles and Warhammer 40,000...but have since stopped that money pit hehe If you'd like to buy anything I've got a LOT and really really need/want to sell most of it).
- Japanese Anime (of course....if this could be considered a hobby) though honestly I don't really have too big of a collection right now...money usually goes elsewhere first.
- Anything PC related pretty much...you name it.
- Action figure collecting as well. (I got lots here, he-man (original), original star wars (very few in decent condition), original TMNT, Star Wars EP1 (don't like the new EP2 figures all that much), a few other misc figures as well)
- Reading (though for me it's hard to find a good book that truly keeps my interest...ugh I'm very picky.) sci-fi, some fantasy, and some scientific books (mostly physics and similar topics...quantum, astro, etc.)
- Gundam Models (got lots here too )
- Being a lazy butt...this is currently my main hobby! LOL
ummmm...I think that covers everything....at least that's about all I can think of that I'm even remotely into right now. Nothing all that amazing or intellectually stimulating but hey! who said hobbies had to stimulate the brain.
Edit: oooooh yeah! hehe I forgot. I'm also into cars too. Done some modding on mine but nothing dramatic. Money blocks my path to tinkering with it more than I'd like to. Anywho...I'll be quiet now.

Cool thread guys! Unfortunately I don't have too much to add as between running the RC business and the Web business, I get a few hours for sleep, and nothing else. Some interests I have in common with people above:
Lego Mindstorms - Yep, especially hacking it w/ the lower-level programming languages and even OS replacements.
Web Design - Well, yes, I own a web company so I'd hope so!
PocketPC - I'm a little burned out on them but I have had handhelds since the HP95LX, all the way through to the same Maestro as Namuna, I've got 20 or so PDAs and tiny laptops, there's a thread somewhere of pics of Toys w/ some of them displayed.
Anime - Took a lot of film classes in my college days, including a 400-level Japanese Film class where we watched Anime as part of class, how cool is that? Hadn't really been into it since Akira/Ghost in the Shell days, but in recent years got back into it with Initial D. Also, don't laugh, but I LOVE Tokyo Pig (Hare Tokidoki Buta). My fiance and I are really into San-X characters as well (see http://san-xshop.com, part of the TinyRC.com family).
The only interests I actually get to spend any time with at present are all out of necessity: tiny RC's (obviously!), my MR-S (got to drive something!), and cooking/food (got to eat!).

Besides these cars I like:
1. Beer! mostly microbrews, Philly is almost a Mecca for American beer drinkers if your into the goodstuff. Currently knocking back "Iron Hill's Bourbon Porter".
2. Sports, I have played collegiate level Lacrosse, Hockey, & Rugby. I don't go to church anymore because I would miss the NFL pre-shows. Season ticket holder of Philadelphia Wings Lacrosse, and I hope to get a seat in the Eagles New Park.
3. Videogames, Look me up on X-Box Live under "Keg O War" if you want to pad your NHL2K3 ranking, I am terrible at it. Or feel free to shoot me in the head on Ghost Recon... if I don't get you first.
4. Outdoor activites, Fishing whether it be a river, lake, or small pond I'll fish it.
Great thread

Well lets see . .
1. Cars in general. imports, domestics, classics, to concepts.
2. Video games - DUH! not really that good at them but nothing like wasting hours or your life infront of a TV engrossed in a new game. Pretty much how I got my nickname.
3. Paintball. I've been playing for about 12 years. Again not that good at it but it's hella fun anyway. I have two stock class markers a Sheridan p68 and a Phantom. I also have a Spyder and Minimag. I just saved enough money to buy an X-Valve for my Minimag, WooHoo!
4. Mountain biking. I haven't done it in awhile. Also not that good at it. I seem to fall everytime I've gone out. I ride an old '92 Specialized S-Works and a '94 M2 FS with a Mag21. Mag21's still rock!
5. Race queens - JGTC baby! do I need to explain?

Other than the Bit RCs, I'm into........
- Modding the Micro RS4 RC car. My Micro is powered by a Speed 400 motor and 8 Cells. It's fast with plenty of handles!! Around 40MPH kind of fast!
- Drag Racing my actual car. I own a mildly modded 1990 Eclipse GSX Turbo AWD. It's decent fast and runs 13.2@99 MPH on the 1/4 mile.
-I collect die cast cars and motorcycles. Not the big scale size though.
-I collect M.U.S.C.L.E. figures. I know alot of you older guys know what these are. The 2 inch flesh colored wrestling type figure from the early 80s. I know it's odd, but I think they are pretty spiffy and they were a big part of having fun in my childhood days.
-I like saltwater/fresh water fishing, though I haven't been out on the water in awhile. Too many hobbies, not enough nature time.
-Playing Video games, surfing the internet and learning how to solder.
I think that's good enough.
Later!
