It's not a BCG or MS chassis though. Would it still work with my controller? I'm probably just going to ask Hobbico for a new chassis. They haven't replied yet, but I emailed them late at night yesterday and it is still early morning here.
yea, this happened to me too ... using CA on the tab won't do the trick ... the part where it touches the chassis is too small ... so do this ... get a an "L" shaped platic tab so you can CA it on the chasis (got mine from an old tamiya model) ... then drill a hole for the metal lock ... works like a charm
Adding the CA glue to just the surfaces that touch isn't enough. Agreed.
I glued it on left it for an hour, then I added a lot of glue and built it up. The next day I sanded it back where required. I would say is stronger than original now.
what you need is kevlar thread that balsa plane builders use to add lightweight reinforment. You just put CA on it and it dries into an extremely strong band-aid. I used it to repair my x-cars tab.
