oh boy, ricer is another way of saying, well, asians are notorious for kinda trying to make there import LOOK like a racer, but fail miserably, they throw on a exhaust tip, some shiny windsheild wiper blade an a few stickers on an say they got a racer. so instead of saying they got a racer, we say they got a ricer, which basically means theyre car is a piece of ****, i dunno, someone else explain this to him, im trying to enjoy my whitecastle, not explain the definition of ricer........
and that civic comes from the fast and furious body set, well, one of the sets, theres 2 differant sets

I know its from the F&F set. 1. I can't get then around here. 2. I like the body on that car, he customized it good & I want that bod! (lmao)
So a ricer is like a wannabe racer, kinda like a egyptian Nascar, lol
When I was a baby I used to gulf down whitecastles like no other...Now my local Albertsons don't carry them & I gulf down Bar-B-Castles like no other (A burger with its meat mixed w/bar-b-cue sause b4 its cooked)

I've been out of the MiniRC scene a few months and just got back...lets just say I'm disturbed by what I see here. Anyway, a "ricer" is more or less a cheap import crammed with as much horsepower and neon as you can bolt to it's carbon fiber chasis. Ricers usually sit about a millimeter off the pavement on 20" wheels. They're supercharged aluminum 4 bangers that whine like an amature ho and the real ones get from point A to B in less time than it takes to crank over your 2003 Intrepid. Like them or not, they can be a lot of fun to play with.

Not quite. You got the exterior stuff right, but I consider ricemobiles to be all show, no go. If a car has a huge wing, body kit, slammed to the ground, huge exhaust tip, and a basicly stock motor, that is a ricer. Throw a supercharger or turbo on there, and no we are talking something a little more serious. But I still hate all the big, gaudy body kit crap. Oh, and AWD>FWD

I used to think so too, and then I got to know some of the people involved in the hobby. The guys with all the show and no go are Wanna-be ricers. Posers if you will. They're just like the idiots that crank the timing all out of whack, stick a number 3 on the rear window, and put Nascar tires on their otherwise stock pickups. To classify these morons as "motorheads" would be disgracefull, just as it is to call Johnny (I wish my car was fast)BigWing a ricer. I still think the "Ricer" label refers to the import class, japanese (rice eating) hot rod freaks that like it tight, showy, and fast as hell. Besides, if the dumbass that put Nascar tires on his stock pickup, also put neon under it...he wouldn't be a ricer because he drives a Ford. It has something to do with import cars, not necessarily the people in them.
Oh, and bravo on the AWD, my 2003 Matrix is god in these upstate NY winters.

This thread's still alive? I think the "rice" thing also extends to neons and cavaliers now. I wonder if people know that it's possible to make any car go fast, and you don't have to waste its exterior either. I think they are just afraid to mess with thier engines or can't afford things that make power(cams, turbo, etc.) Sad
And for those of you who think a you can't make a civic fast, go to a drag race with a real one (non-tube frame) in it. It dosn't take much power to move this much weight, that's WHY you soup up a civic or any other compact in the first place. duh.

Ok, to *most* of the American Car-Guys, there are 3 classifications. (or atleast most of the car guys I hang with)
These terms also apply to domestic FWD stuff, so....
---------
Econo-box - a factory stock compact or sub-compact, 4 cyl, FWD.
Ricer - a factory stock econo-box with poser parts to make it *look* like it has better performance, but can frequently be taken by it's stock counterpart.
Import - heavily tuned mechanically, much better performance, and can usually hang with or out perform factory stock sports cars.
-
But to some, anything that isn't Ford, Chebby, or Mopar; is rice.
----------
If you don't like my definitions, write up your own.

Ricer means "Rice Grinder", meaning you feed it rice to run. It was made up years ago in the days of REAL muscle cars. Feeding it rice means it's from an asian country ie... Japan, China, etc...
Ricer=Japanese car.
Even Mitsubishi's and things that are owned by large American Corps. are Rice Grinder's, or "Ricers".
