Tank Takes ID but will NOT move - HELP

A friend of mine picked up the box set of 2 tanks in Hong Kong. We opened them up, and followed the english instructions found online.

1. Charged them up
2. Programmed the ID -> tanks flashed their LED indicating they took the ID programming.
3. Enter any of the battle modes -> nothing happens. The tank doesn't flash (like the translated english instructions indicates), nor do they move.

Am I missing something that wasn't in the instructions? Or do you think the tanks are dead. The odd thing is BOTH tanks do this. I saw a post on here where someone had a similar problem, but no followups had been posted indicating a solution.

could the tanks be dead? Will konami replace them if I send them back to them?

Thanks for the help,

R

Did you move the center switch off of the charge position (the one with the battery next to it)?

Yeah, I follow the instructions exactly. I turn the left switch to OFF. I turn the middle switch to the top position (practice mode), I then push the left position to the top position (for single battle)...and nothing.

It sounds like you set the ID right since you said the tank lit up , but I'll ask this anyway. Did you put the tank under the controller to set the ID? The IR LED that ID's the tank is underneath next to the charge bay.

Yep..I noticed that. Somewhat amusing the design of these things. But yes, I did put the tank under it for the programming.

I'm stumped. Did you get the English instructions from the official website? If not, they have them in a PDF. I would get them and read the instructions again carefully. Maybe you overlooked something.

I don't have my instructions here with me but if I remember you turn off the controller set the controller to charge, set the controller to the ID you want, switch the tank on and put it under the controller, turn on the controller then push the ID button till the display says its done and the tank flashes..

Yeah, I've tried that for sure. I've followed both the konami english translation, and the translation done by someone else that I found on this board. They are actually in contradiction on somethings. The non-konami one suggests turning the tank ON to charge it, while the konami one says to turn the tank off....nice and confusing.

Still...not working

Have you tested your tank on all channels since with my Sherman and T34 will only work on specific fequencys.
