Tire Combinations (part III or something...)

Okay, I'm new. I'm getting my first Bit soon, and I am wondering which tire combinations work the best, and I need your opinions.

Please include the following info:
-tire brand (Bit Racer, Bit Char-G (colors), Microsizers, etc.) and hardness level (soft, medium, hard)
-motor power (2.2, 2.6, etc.) and motor brand (Bitmod1, TinyRC, Bit Char-G, Bit Racer, ZipZaps, etc.)
-gear ratio (9.86:1, 12:1, etc.) and color (blue, orange, teal)
-any mods that would affect tires, steering, or speed
-suspension type (spring, little plastic thing (hard, med, soft))
-car type (Bit Char-G, ZipZaps, clone, etc.)
-type of racing surface
-driving style (endurance, all-around, drag, etc.)

Sorry for needing all of those specs (I'm really into this ). If you can't find them all out, than just specify as many as you can. Thanx.

What are you trying to accomplish? Top end speed, drifting, drag racing, nascar, indy style, speed or torque?

Your driving surface and style determines what would be the best tires or motor for you. I doubt anyone would list ever combination here, but you can always try out the search mechanism at the top of this page.

Then type in best tires on tile or wood...something like that should produce an answer or 2 for you.

I'm not looking for and exact combination, I just want some suggestions. I don't even have a Bit yet, and I don't know what kind of racing style I will do. I just want to see what works with other people.

Microsizers puts out a tire pack, I use the soft all around for driving on all surfaces.

But you'll soon learn what works for you, good luck and welcome to the community.

Also check out http://www.questformadness.com to find out how to make your own tires out of pen grips!>?
I have destroyed every pen in my office at work for tires.

A couple of my setups:

2.6 motor with 12:1 gears and soft tires. Great control and decent speed. This setup has a shorter run time with a non-modded car, though.

Another good setup is the 2.6 motor, the stock 9.86:1 gears and the medium tires (the ones that came with the car.) This setup has great speed and great control, as well. You may flip over during turns, but your mileage will vary.

In my experience, the different suspension bars make little difference.

By the way, the tires that come with the MicroSizer (or Bit, in this case) are usually much softer than the medium slicks included in the tire pack.

i like the microsizers soft tires. they are nice. medium clone tires work good as well. for suspension i use tyco slot car springs.

My preferred setup is this:

Stock orange gears
Soft tires (or orange soft slicks from KIT racer) in back
hard ribbed tires in front
2.6 motor (haven't used anything other than 2.6 and 2.2 yet)
stock suspension bar
I race on a hardwood desk (in my dorm room)
and I just kinda slalom around stuff, haven't raced people yet
