Arrow I NEED YOUR OPINION GUYS!!!

Here it goes, i won a OEM Bullet and i really like it. I don't see any difference between it and the Bit Char-g's but i hear a lot of people saying Bit Char-g's are WAY better and others say there's not much of a difference beside quality of the parts. So here's my porblem, i really want a TOMY Bit char-g or a real good clone bit (like the OEM ones in the box or somthing like that) Any ways i can't decide weather i should keep my bullet and hop it up with TOMY parts OR get the real thing or a nice clone Bit. Can you guys suggest what i should do??? I don't know if i want to cash out for the real bits........

Speed,

In my opinion, you should save up for the Tomy Bit Char-g car. I've tried the OEM clone thing and the quality is just not as good. I'm sure some OEM's are running fine for people, but I've experimented with different types of motors in them and they don't do well with faster speeds. If you wanted to run a 2.6 or less motor then you might be fine with an OEM clone. If you wanted to run a 3.0, 3.2, or a 3.8 motor then you probably would be better off with the Tomy Bit Char-g. I beleive that the cheaper materials in the OEMs cause extra gear friction that prevents the low torque/high speed motors from working well. If you need any help or have any other question just let me know.

Kyle

SPEED, MicroSizers are the US release of the TOMY BC-G, so they are identical in quality etc. However, they aren't actually out yet (any day now though...).

Speed,

The LXX cars are actually one of the clones that I used to test out the diffenent motors. Like I said in my earlier post they work well up to 2.6 speeds, but 3.0, 3.2, and 3.8 motors don't work well in them because of the excess friction in the gears. When it comes to buying Bits I believe you are going to get what you pay for. The Original Tomy Bit Char-g is the best in my opinion. Anything other than that and you risk getting a poor performance car. You can find good deals on ebay now. Here is a link to one for $19.80 : http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=1760400249 . The extra $4 you pay for a Real Tomy car is going to be wort it. If you don't like it, let me know and I'll buy it from you for what you paid for it.

Careful with auctions like that - the $12 shipping is a scam, so it seems like you're getting a great deal but really you're paying $29 for the BC-G and $3 for shipping. Just check the stamps when it arrives and you will see!

Slightly OT, but a lot of people (especially those that aren't old enough for credit cards) might be interested in a database (or at least a searchable list) of where people are buying Bit Char-G's over the counter.

So far I have seen Tomy branded BCG's in a number of locations in the Greater LA area. No S&H, pick the car you like in real life rather than off a website pic, and instant gratification.

Howzaboutit? Would it be worthwhile putting up a sticky "where to buy" thread??

Go for it; post the thread, and be sure to point out that it's retail locations only, not online stores, so people don't get confused. Of course, with MicroSizers coming out soon, pretty much every LHS will have them.
