I read a post on another board that claimed they went faster out-of-the-box then any other zip with Nos or Turbo. They also said the controller has better steering knobs that stick out further. I have both new kits coming in the mail. I'll let you know if this is true the moment I get them. Imagine a Zip that doesn't require a swap....ahh dreamy

I read the same thing. The funny thing is I have a gold civic sitting here and haven't had a chance to check it out. I hope RS did something to improve the pcb, I won't be holding my breath though.

If you live in or near a large city, you can find them at one of the many Radio Shacks. If you live in a small town like me....you're screwed. Especially if the local manager is offering her friends, family and old school chums first rights to them. Damn her!! Damn her to hell!!

I got a gold Civic today!

But i haven't taken it out of the package yet.

I can tell you that the Tx knobs are the exact same as the rest of them. Also, it comes with the blue gears and green motor. Don't know about the pcb but...

You should know that the black 'Stang I bought yesterday has the exact same performance as my older ZZ's - slow out-of-the-box.

That quickly changed with the green gears and NOS motor...

no question....

The gold Civic is DEFINATELY quicker box-stock than my other ZZ's were (I quick put it together and ran it ).

Not Bit-quick by any means, but noticeably faster.

Still needs a clone PCB

One other fact: BOTH of the new Tx's that came with my new cars were junk. By that I mean, The red/green charging lights did not illuminate when I placed the cars on the charging pad, and they did not charge the car's battery at all. I just used my old controllers .

John

P.S. The antennas on both my black Mustang and gold Civic are 1 1/4" inches longer than my other stock ZZ antennas.

I got the gold Civic and it ran fairly slow out of the box.

I stuck a Fit Racer (pink-tip) engine in it and now it flies. Nice handling, too.

My black Mustang with turbo motor and turbo gears still seems slow, though.

You all know you can mod your PCB, right? Lot easier than going to 10 stores and 2 malls looking for shens after christmas Well, assuming you have solder skills.
