anyone ever noticed how short the antennas are on microsizers?

anyone ever noticed how short the antenna's are on the microsizer cars?? they're pretty darn short when compared to the bit char-g. although they're made by the same company, it looks like the microsizers got stuck with shorter antenna's. this could be a possible answer as to why many people on here with microsizers are getting bad range.

I've never seen a BCG up close, but I know that the microsizer antennae are routed out the front of the PCB, folded back over it, and have a knot under the PCB. In reality the antenna is like 6-8 inches long. My Shen doesn't do all that backwards garbage...

Maybe BCGs have their antennae hooked up like my Shen, which would make sense.

The Microsizer chassis has a shorter antenna than the Bit Char-G, but the Microsizer controller has a longer antenna than the Bit Char-G.

I've had no noticeable difference in range in same frequency Bits and Microsizers.

i have all bit char-g cars, but i think this is how it goes.

both the char-g and the microsizers have the antenna knot/folded over pcb setup and for a good reason. this is so if you play rough, you won't pull the antenna out as easly, and it also does not flop around so much.

the first edition bit char-g cars (dont know exactly when, probably nearly 2 yrs ago when we got one) had short antennas (probably like the microsizers). The next bit char-g series (new bodies like subaru and others) had longer antennas. It seems like microsizers are trying to do everything that bit char-g did but in a shorter amount of time for the short attention span of americans.

btw: notice how they did not do their reserch, microsizers does not even know what they are selling! they don't even know that that the axle that comes with the stabius set is a drift axle! Just goes to show that they glanced at the packages, made up some corny names for them (microsnap, micropress, pivot point...ack)

we will all have to see what comes up next.

I don't care WHAT the boxes look like, as long as the parts are good and cheap in that order. I have thrown away all the packaging from my Microsizer accessory kits.

When I replaced the stock antenna on my shen with my cat5 antenna, I ran it out the back, and looped it up and around the little holder clip built into the PCB cover to act as a strain relief, and to center it, so as it emerges from the rear opening of my Skyline body it rides right in the center notch. (details)

I don't like the antenna running close to the tuning coil, as it can cause it to detune, shortening range.

i dont' see how microsizers are aim towards kids, and bit's are for older people when they are exactly the same thing.

if your talking about in terms of marketing and packaging, then yes i agree with you that the color scheme and such is aimed towards the younger crowd. but if your referring the the car itself, then thats where i disagree because they're the same thing. microsizer is just tomy's way of introducing a japanese product in america.

The key to R/C MicroSizers steering. The suspension arm is the piece that links the front wheels and makes them turn together. The "stock" suspension arm is ideal for most driving needs. Optional arms in the Suspension Tune-up Set let you set up for more steering or greater, straight-line stability.
