TTTT and custom stuff

Hello boys i think there are some who are interested in building their own little toys .
I think that TTTT virus started in the 80. with a few guys equipped a 30 t 1:87 scale truck with rc now the parts got so small that even a 1:87 smart is possible and it has some extras too i posted pictures of it in tiny? and now a picture of a little big truck

Progress on the American TTTT

Here are the latest pics as of 1/16. I thought since Hally started this thread that it is a good place to continue with progress pictures.

I am in the middle of figureing out the best steering geometry.

Thanks for starting the thread Hally. The truck is looking good Overlander.

Do you guys know where I can order a Unimog and a MAN, mayby 5t.

I am building a 1/24 stock car right now, but I will make time. It just looks like too much fun.

Hally, how big are the trials areas guys are driving on? I understand that it is a competition? If so how is it scored? Thanks

There are no official rules there are only a few who build tttt cars and drive with them just for fun but there are ideas for rules
the boys from www.mikromodell.de posted the following rules on their homepage:
there is no time limit .
but the truck should be able to drive at least 10min
every osstackle has 10 points
as in real trucktrial there have to be several obstackles. How much compares to the parcour. you can split the obstackle into stages after mastering it gives you x points . if a truck is stuck you can use your fingers(-5points) or another competant trys to push the stuck car with his own truck +5 points and +10 points for getting a truck back on the wheels if it tipped over. you cant lose more points than you can get or have.
also there should be the a contruktion price for best truck in contest.
how big a parcour is is your choice

Thanks for the info Hally.

I have found a Ford C-cab with a box, and a pull back that looks a little like a unimog. I have some other projects and a school to finish for work. Then we will give it a shot. I wish receivers were cheaper, I seem to be buying a lot of them lately.

I have a thing for the big 4x4 european trucks. Unimogs and MAN's especially. I really want a Paris to Dakar MAN truck. They just aren't easy to find around here. I'll check the sights you posted.

RC has taken over my life....Its great!!

They have a bunch of neat trucks. Thanks for the parts list. What do our German friends use for a receiver?

Hicountry out!

this one would be nice with another frequency and if manufactured it like others with the conektors all one one side without other components between them it would be easy to make it shorteri dont know how it is sized but its more than the cell wich is 17mm so maybe it fits on a trucks back.
NEW NARROW BAND HYBRID, LOW VOLTAGE, SUB-MICRO RECEIVER
FROM SKY HOOKS & RIGGING
This new unit is designed to operate on a single, 3.6 Volt Lithum Ion Cell. Its operating Voltage range is between 3 V. and 5.1Volts. The user should not attempt to operate this new Low Voltage receiver on higher Voltages than 3.7 Volts nominal.
The new RX72N-HYB-V, 5.5 gram, sub micro receiver, from Sky Hooks & Rigging, is lighter than other narrow band receivers without speed controllers.
THE POLYCELL-210 is 3.7 Volts nominal. When fully charged, it has a top Voltage of 4.2 Volts. This is ample for the operation of the recommended motors. The cell weighs 5.2 grams and has a cut-off point of 3.0 Volts. Should the Voltage in the cell be permitted to drop below 3.0 Volts, the cell will go into a coma and never return. The dimensions of the cell are 30mm x 17mm x 6.4mm and its capacity is 210 mAh. The cell has a discharge rate of 1.5 Amps and a charge rate of 100 mAh.
