I think you're a fool for betting $400 on a race with $30 cars.
Anyway, here's what you need to do.
Triple battery mod
R-Spec motor
Shave body to make it lighter
Range mods to keep it under control
Wheelie bar
Super grippy tires (more grip than anything I know of)
My recommendation for the front wheels is that you take off the tires. This way your front rims will slide and won't turn the car.
Also, I HIGHLY doubt these guys are running dual battery 3.0s and thats it, and are willing to throw $400 onto the table.

I should tell you that 2.6 is not the voltage for that motor. 2.6 is the motor speed, aka it runs 2.6 x 10000 rpm. 26000 rpm, at less than 1.2 volts (whatever the PCB puts directly to the motor).
Also, 2.6 motors aren't slow. They aren't super fast, but 3 batteries with a 2.6 would be uncontrollably fast nevertheless.
I just had an epiphany. Show up to the race running the same frequencies as your friends. And get there before they do. Then you win because they can't race, and $800 winnings are yours through your being a cheapass, hehe.

BabyKiller, screaming at people is less likely to make people wanna help ya.
For a start I dont believe you bet $400 on a Bit Char Race. LMAO.
There is tons of useful info on this site, and yet you're not looking for it. You ask how to dual cell etc, there are great articles on this already. Why should people spend their time and effort writing it again.
Li-Ion or Poly batteries are hard to find in 'button cell' configuration. They are nearly always in a primsatic (rectangular) cell, like those found in cell phones (no doubt that is their primary application)
The only people i've found making button cell Li-Ions are www.eemb.com, and they're a manufacturer, they'd probably only sell you like 10,000 min.
As for chargers, use the output pins from you cell phone (if it has a li-ion battery) to use as a makeshift charger. This will properly pulse charge the battery.
Easier would be use a 3V lithium non rechargable cell. Easy to get hold of and would be pretty fast.
I wouldnt bother going with 6V, you'll fry the PCB unless you use a 5v regulator, and if you cant solder that is out of the question.
Tops i'd say you might be able to string together 4 button cells and cram em in. It'd prolly go really fast, but wouldnt be very controllable. Ask the guys who know, I've never even done a dual mod, I just know batteries.
by the way, why not race em for your 'pink slip'. {giggles}

do a transistor mod which turns on the full power from the cells straight to the motor, search on here for it.
That way the pcb doesn't go crispy.
But ive ran my panther clone on 3.6V and it didnt kill it. It killed 1 motor in 5 min, the other is still going strong!
All the extra power does wear the slots tho,so look 4 a fix 4 that on here 2!

I wouldn't even put $400 on a race in my civic, which is more reliable and predictable than a bit, and has thousands of dollars of work done to it.

Would the stock charger charge it?
Why should I tell you?
I wrote my post to give you some info that wasnt widely available on the board, re the li-ions. Seeing as you're so ungrateful, and just seem to think that your yelling got you an answer I wont be bothering wasting any more time on you. Yell all you like.

Heres some advice for you babykiller:
Stick a fork in your mains electrical outlet and glue your bit battery to it. Will charge it a treat in 0.2seconds (so you gotta be quick!) To upgrade your battery capacity to 9000Amp hours, simply pop it in the microwave after you've done the procedure.
It will also gain 'mysterious powers' and glow in the dark as a handy nightlite.
Once you fit it to your bit, if you hear a load ear-piercing bang its your bit breaking the sound barrier. Dont worry about it.
