not unless you directly connect the charger to batteries (but that involves opening up the remote control and soldering).
Other then that you have to make your own charger.

I don't know about everyone else. But I did the direct link for the controller to the battery and it still wouldn't charge. It was 3v trying to charge 2.4v so I don't think it had enough power to push a charge. So I just made a stand alone charger and go with a rule of 3v charges 1.2v batterries.

i had the same trouble as rebel, imodded my remote and it still wouldnt charge them, had to buidla stand alone, 2 AA for each batt, so sinc ei have two batts i use 4 AA battas in my charger, i guess if you had 3 youd need 6

My panther has a triple cell conversion (3.6V)
It is recommended that u charge at the same voltage as the battery.
BUT
I found that 3 AA batteries did not charge the 3 cell panther very quickly, so I Used 4AA batteries, and it charges nicely!
Mayb 3 AAs dont have enough Push!
I use ni-mh s and they dont mind a bit of hard charging, unlike nicads, I charge then until they are warm!

An easy solution would to go buy a radio shack 4xAA charger. (No soldering is required) Take the charging clip(where the car sits) from another controller, along with the red and black wires attatched. Twist those wires with the ones on the charger. Add electrical tape to ensure that the wires will not separate. Pic of mine (circled is electrical tape)

First off, read the 'Battery Basics 101'.
Next, go to mod #26 at Questformadness.

or find the nkok micro sea explorer. it comes with a 4aa charger that works with bits if the car is backwords. then you get a nice looking 6v charger and a cool boat that runs in your bathtub.
