Did you try a higher gear ratio?
I don't have a 3.0, but I found that the Bit Racer 2.6 likes the 12:1 gearing. It will accelerate faster and have a higher top end than a 2.2 geared 9.86:1

yeah, i did... i got a gearset, and i tested the 3.0 with all the gears, the 12:1 being the most reliable, but it's so mother-torquey that it spins out far too often... it is about on par with a 2.6 geared with speed (teal) gears... except the 2.6 accelerates much slower...

im gonna lube up the 8.25:1 gears and see if the 3.0 wants to use them...

thx for the tip arceeguy!

yep rightnow mynew fave is the kit racer 2.6

the 3.0 is way frustrating

i have the dks3.4 backordered, we'll see how that does.

btw the 2.6 on tealgears is great = yah the 12:1 ratio blue gears is too torquey for races on a hard surface like woodfloors.

2.6 on teals = not much spinning and pretty quick...

but when the 3.0 goes, it eats it alive... like... mmmm... 2.6.... chew chew chew...

is the kit racer 2.6 much diff from the microsizer 2.6? cuz mine's not too too overly fast.. fast enuf to spin out on wood floor, but not a blur... if im looking for a new engine, it's gotta be the bitmod 3.5.. that thing's said to be a beast...

oh, and thanks for the reply

I just bought a set of gears and paired my 2.6 with the teal gears. Nice top speed couldn't tell much of a difference with my 3.0 and the regular gears. The light blue are pretty good, nice accel but not as good top speed for me. I might be sticking with this 2.6 kit Racer motor.

yeah, the teals really increase the top end quite a bit...

does your 3.0 work well?

no..my 3.0 still needs that little push. It goes damn fast though when it gets going. But it stops way too much to have fun with for a long time.
