Talking 5 cell bus

HEY everyone. my idea is to get one of those exspensive tokyo buses and put an epock quad cell ontop of the pcb. If your wondering no it shouln't fry the board becuase i'll put a resistor of somesort onto the part that goes into the board.Oh and a 3.8 to go the speed.
5 cell
3.8 motor
lights
custom rims&tires
wheelie bar
clone spoiler

P.S. were can I get a bus cheap in the USA

That sounds like a glorious waste of time. Firstly, dropping the voltage to the RX is better done with diodes than resistors. Secondly, this would also drop the voltage to the motor unless you do some major mods and make sure that only the receiver circuit gets the reduced voltage. Thirdly, the poor output transistors in the H-bridge that drives the motor will not do much more than 100mah - the rest just turns to heat.

Last, but not least, a 140mah Lithium Polymer cell would probably be a better bet for modding your bus. 5 cells start to get heavy and the motor would lead a short life.

My two (euro)cents worth.

Michael
