My ultimate battery mods: 4.5V & 12V
4.5V : 3 1.5V button cells taped together (exact same size as the 1.2V that comes with the Bit) - hauls ass
12V: 2/3AAA 12V battery that sits on top of the PCB cover - hauls as (sometimes, other times doesn't work) onyl set back is that it starts to fry the PCB after a short run.

I'm not sure, I took some out of my laser pointer (that was almost dead) and used so they died pretty quick. I am gonna go get some fresh ones soon, so I will tell you then.

Running 10 times the designated voltage on anything will tend to fry it. Think of those innocent little resistors, made for 1.2 volts, and you're destroying them with a 12 volt current. You monster!
