Breaking Motors IN

When you get a new motor do you have to break it in? If so, how do you do it? Thanks for any help.

It's a good idea; one method is to turn the car upside down and run it through two charges. You can also repeat this every so often for improved performance.

I did a bunch of runs as Tinyrc mentioned. Is it better that way???... who knows... it doesn't sound like it can hurt to try.

Dare I contradict the forum mod ...

No, you do not have to break-in these small motors,

These motors, so far as I know, do NOT have carbon brushes or anytyhing since they are low volt motors... the brushes are the reason to break in a motor. So theres nothing to break in, breaking them in is just extra wear toward its overal lifespan.

This comment is based on them NOT haveing carbon brushes, so this post is void if they do have them...

These motors instead have very little copper fingers for brushes...

I took one apart just to see what it was like inside. Not much there. For some reason I was expecting a bunch of little hamsters running really fast on a wheel. hmmm...
