8.99 clone car at eckerd
Dunno much about it. It is called a micro racer. And it has to be the cheapest one around. Comes in the usual bullet container.

got one of those, they are pretty fast too. Steering is pretty bad but in general it's decent considering what you pay for.

I bought two of them today... one for me, one to give away. The one I opened is a POS. Turns left like crazy, turns right like an eighteen wheeler with a bad driver. Basically, it's a one inch long Nascar! The ones I bought are called "Micro Wild Runner" and show "Excite" in Carrollton, TX as the distributor. Oh yeah - the range on the 27mhz one that I opened was about 6-8 ft.
Tonight I had to go to Walgreens and they had a different brand of clone - "Charge-n-Go" by "Megatoys". They were marked $12.99 but were on sale and rang up at $9.99. This one was WAAAY better. Faster, turns both ways; in short a lot more fun. Range on this one ( 40mhz ) was 12 - 15 feet. As a bonus, it's got a flame paint job. I LOVE FLAMES!
I haven't seen a topic where you can rate these "no name" clones; I think it would be a good idea to post short reviews of them so people can have some idea of what they're getting before they plunk money down on the counter. I'll post pics of either or both of these cars if anybody is interested.

Labrat I agree 100%. Everybody seems to lump all non Tomy/Hobbico cars as crappy"bullet" clones. The Shen Qi Wei for example surpasses the Char-g/microsizer in MANY ways. However I also have a WRC ThunderFighter that resembles the Shen but is a total POS. The Shen is 19$, The WRC was 14$ at HYVEE. The WRC's gears dont mesh well, is very LOUD and isnt very fast at all. The steering is typical of ALL micro cars and is easily fixed. I only bought it for spare controller parts and the body was kinda cool(silver benz?).Any ideas on what cars this is?

Well I have to recant now.... I just spent the last 30mins tinkering with the WRC "Thunderfighter" And I simply added a rare earth mag, removed some plastic that the front left tire was hanging on,shimmed the motor so the gears meshed better, added some DFL(Dry Film Lubricant) and some teflon grease to all friction points.Result???? WHAMO off it went . Steering was flawless. Speed was much better and the gear noise went down a lot(still a little noisy). But guess what.....I have another POS that smokes my Microsizers 2.2& 2.6 around the track. I know some people will say I am just "hating" on Tomy but that is not the case. I just bought this for parts and now I have another keeper. I guess I just wrote this because on first impression I was ready to strip it down for scrap. Add a little time and its amazing how much you can get for just a few $$.
