There is a 3.8 that will fit I believe. Consider that if you want faster speeds..

Cool

Using a stopwatch I timed my 0-10' runs with the original 2.2 engine and then with the 3.0 engine. My times went from about 4.5 sec to 3.2 sec. This pretty consistent with Atomic Toys findings of 4.6 sec stock and 3.0 sec. with the 3.0 engine.

Cool

I believe the 3.8 is the fastest motor period. Don't know anything about dual battery mods.

Either / or. They both spin at 38000 rpm right? I dont think there is a 3.8 z-car motor, so that may not be an option. But you can get 3.8 from other companies.

Z-car makes a 3.0 motor.

Yeah, biggest motor for Z-car is 3.0 in fact I don't think that the 3.8 is even an official Microsizers motor...I think it's like an aftermarket motor. From what I've heard they're interchangeable tho.

Cool

The 3.0 does 0-10' in 3.2 sec. when I tested it. On their website it says it'll do 3.0. With the gearing ratio they provide it is slow off the line but top speed is good. I have a friend with a clone that is really quick. Using the same gearing ratio his is faster than mine so I figure his car must've come with a 3.2 or 3.4 motor. But when I use the power gears even though his takes it off the line and may even beat it in like a 10' drag, mine catches up and would probably overtake him in like a 20' drag.

You should...with the 3.0 engine Atomic Toys says you should drop to 3.0 sec in the 0-10' but mine seems to run about 3.2 seconds.

Just use a bit motor. Z-car accessories are somewhat hard to find as I have experienced.
