some questions on bit char-g mods
I am thinking about getting a bit char-g, and so are two of my friends so we can race.
I was thinking about this kit
G25 TOMY BIT CHAR-G AUTO MODELLISTA BOOSTER SET
or this one
G23 TOMY BIT CHAR-G NISSAN SKYLINE HISTORY
the skyline history kit is only 18 bucks at toy east. Why is it so cheap?
We were also thinking to get parts from here
http://tinyrc.com/qfm/racing/store.htm
we were thinking either a 3.8 or 3.0 motor, and a nimh battery. Where can we get a 150mah battery?
The one listed at that store is only 120mah. Will that make a large difference?
thanks for all you guy's help!!!
please mention any other things you think we should get
thanks again

The 150mA will give you a longer run time vs. the 120mA. Other than the longer run time there is no difference in the batteries.

Well, if you want to race with more than 1 friend...MAKE SURE you get different Frequencies, the Modelista kit is 27MHz...As long as your buddies get different frequencies you're all set.
As far as going with a 3.0 or 3.8 motor...If you've got LOTS of room, then go for the 3.8 (that thing SCREAMS)...Otherwise the 3.0 will do the job just fine.

I agree with Namuna...the 3.0 is your best bet. I have found that the 3.8 is hard to keep on 4 wheels.

Hi peeps,,
I believe that the reason the Skyline history set (G23) is so low priced, is because it's NOT a booster set. It's just a regular bit with some extra bodies (that you can't find anywhere else). I bet you're friends will not be happy to race you if you have a booster car and they do not.

what does it mean if it is a booster set?
the Auto modelista is a booster set right, but the skyline isn't?
i think we will go with the 120mah battery and the 3.0 motors so we can get everything from the same place.
What reasons are there for the skyline kit being so cheap?

i dont really understand.
say you have 2 cars with the same motors and gearing and everything, but one has a 2 speed.
in first gear on the 2 speed is like top speed with the other car.
and then when you go into second, it sends more power to the motor and you go faster.
do i have it right?
thanks

No, the first speed is slower than a 1 speeder, but when you hit the boost, its faster......

they are both great cars.....I have the fairlady z myself and i love it. as far as I know, the only other booster available are the booster sets, but you either have to buy a 4 band controller or have a booster controller already.

no these are the only two that are two speed and come with a controller. they make a thing called booster sets which is a 2 speed car only, no controller. they also make a 4 band controller that controls all 4 frequencies and has the boost button.

and our other friend will get this car
http://www.toyeast.com/proddetail2.asp?pdtid=ATORC031
how much of a difference in speed will there be, between the booster cars, and the 1 speed cars?
the booster cars are 2 speed with 2.2 motor, and the 1 speed has a 2.6 motor. Which would be faster, the 2.6 right?
