CUSTOM BIT
Hmmm I noticed that you used the PS filters (ripple and maybe one of the pixelate ones). But I believe you set up another layer to make the shadow of the text.
LANCER
Now your lancer one is pretty neat, cept' I think you need to work on the text a little more.
MTL gives his talk about filters, which I also stand by, so maybe you want to play around with the tools also but the filters are there to help you.

if you were rendering a picture/cg painting, making metallic or other texture embossed logos, and what not, then filters are a LITTLE useful then, but in general, all you really need is your toolbar.
no need to buy a book, because there are 1000s of sites online that show step by step directions...or just go to the library, some libraries do carry PS books, but trust me, it aint worth buying one.
if you learn by yourself for a couple months, you can literally learn almost everything there is in those $40-50 so called "advanced techniqe" books....

Greetings, Earth....Creatures?
Ok well this has nothing to do with wallpapers (besides I don't think you'd want a wallpaper by me since I totally suck at art anyway) but I just wanted to say "Hello" to all my new found bit fellows! Besides I've been scanning this forum for too long and I'm bustin' at the seams to post something!
So anywhom....now I've posted something. I feel better now. Now I'll stop annoying you so you can get back to reading the good stuff.

kwikbb sumed it up. the posting size was stated in the begining. it would be helpful for all of us if we could stick to that. i can't imagine how it might be effecting those who are bandwith challenged (modems).

i think that is one of my favorites now.
opinion time, i'm not sure what the random, angular pattern is within the black bar is. i see some of the images within the red background used in transparency with the black bar, which is nice. the blending of the red grid within the black bar is nice too. i'm not sure what the 3d l shape objects under the tinyrc logo are for.
off topic - as an architect, one of the challenges in design is not to overdo it. it's about getting your idea across without clutter and confusion. i think that applies for the graphics side as well.
like i said in the begining, this is one of my favorites, nice job.
