Tokoro Review

First off, I know most of you think "save your money and buy a Mini Z".Fact is I own a Mini Z,T-Maxx as well as a lot of Bits and clones.

I have been enjoying this hobby for 20+ years. What caught my attention about the Tokoro "Palm Runner Knock off" was the price and ability to get my friends interested in new things. Some friends look at the Z with all my hop ups and think thats a lot of money.

Now for the review:
Cost---$15.00
It has a working front suspension which can be changed out with the Mini Z springs.

Features a rear suspension as well.

The wheel base is adjustable for all the bodies that are available.Mini Z bodies and Tokoro's can work on each other..

Wheels and tires from the Mini Z can work on them...

You can use an X-speed motor on them as well.

Yes the throttle and steering are not proportional, however it is still fun to run.... and cheap.

Like most I get tired of breaking parts on my big RC's so its nice to have something you can mod that will not cost a lot.Plus at the price I have been able to get some friends involved in the hobby. Can make for a fun guys night, drink beer shoot pool then race...........

PS.

Just because I can and had the extra parts laying around I hooked up 2 extra AA's to it for a total of 4, and lets just say she moved very well.......

Just an FYI for those looking for some cheap fun in this hobby of ours

heh i was gonna buy one too, but i was going to get the real Kyosho kind for $35 i believe, which i still alot better price than a mini Z...i only wanted the FCx7 body and $15 does sound good
and yeah swapping out parts for a mini z is a plus

i could really care less if its proportional or not, ...as long as i can make it go faster thats the fun part
i dont own any proportional cars yet, although i will get a MicroRs4 soon....

btw...did u get yours off of ebay? thats the only place i see the clone palmrunners

I bought mine from ToyEast they are under Tokoro's, however when you pull the body off the electronics say Kyosho and in the book it list Kyosho and its parts for the car???? go figure....

I have a real Mini-Z like I stated, however if you accept them for what they are they can be pretty fun. With my 4cell mod it really moves and with the right tires I can make it handle my track pretty good as well.....

Hope this has helped you some......

Update

I have put a Mini cooper body on it and have squeezed 2 more AA for a total of six, and let me tell you she really moves now.

On the other hand I had to put fater wheels and sticky tires on it just to grip and corner with all the power.Pretty fun for a cheap investment..........
