New Car Problem

I recently bought the special edition penzoil-zexel skyline (27Mhz) and red rx-7 (57Mhz) and the rx-7 runs consistantly with no problems (except slower than the gt-r), but the GT-R has problems all the time, it will stop working for seamingly no reason and then if i charge it...nothing, so then if i take it apart (take out rear axel, gears, heatsink, and motor, and put it back together then it does work again for a while, is this just interfernce because of the frequency or is it something else?

ps-sorry it is so long just tring to be through

that happens to most or the newer GTR SE's(special edition). Your going to have to take out that one thing, capcatitator or soemthing. My freinds xanavi wount run anywhere past 4 feet, so i had to unsolder that piece of crap. the link to that tip is: http://mywebpages.comcast.net/qfm/racing/mod_02.htm#06 look at tip #6.

CivicMachina, does it feel like a range issue or a power issue? When it dies as you describe, if you move closer does it work again, or does it stop working until you rebuild it? It sounds like your motor may be loose, in which case bending the retension tab slightly to put more pressure on the motor should fix it.

it's not a range issue because i can set the car on the charger and it won't move, but the steering will still work

Nope. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to it, but the current data pretty much shows that if you have a 27MHz car, it doesn't have one...period. The only 27MHz car to have something was my nephew's NSX-R, but it doesn't seem to have increased the range. Not sure what that cap did. Oh well, it's gone now.

Did you try my other suggestion RE the motor retention tab? I'm pretty certain that this is the problem.

CivicMachina, no problem, sorry if I used confusing terms. What I am referring to is the small contact prong that holds the motor from the side and also supplies current. Not the removable motor holder/heat sink. If you are still not clear on what I mean, let me know and I'll take a pic. Thanks!

I just nabbed a pic from QFM Racing and annotated it, if it's not clear from this, let me know and I'll take a close-up pic, this is just faster:
