Should i downgrade?

Im getting a lxx and it comes with a 3.0 motor, and im gonna do the dual cell NiCD or NiHM, but i dont know if i should downgrade the motor for more control. Im thinkin of getting a 1.6.

Well, downgrading the motor kind of defeats the purpose of all-out acceleration with the dual cell mod.

Also, I have an LXX, and while it's fast I don't think the 3.0 it comes with is as fast as the Tomy 3.0, so just wait and see. Do the dual-cell, then if it's too fast downgrade the motor.

One of the bonuses of dual-celling with a slower motor is you get a big torque boost over a single-cell car of the same speed.

I guess you've got a point there. I just always looked at dual and triple cell mods as all out straight-line speed. Who needs handling anyway?

I'm going to get a really slow, like 1.0 motor so I can have my mini cars just cruise from place to place in a HO scale town. I'll use some HO buildings for the town. So use a 3.0 for racing. And a slow motor for just driving. Well that was hopefully helpful.

That's kind of a suprise, seeing as how you're using about the lowest torque setup possible on that dual battery. The 3.0 I'm using pretty much needs at least a 9.86:1 to give it any kind of pickup. I mean, sure, it flies with 8.25, but it takes a while. It's way more fun with some get up. I haven't even tried with any Racer gears.
