They must have put them in there for a reason in the first place. Maybe over specced though so as a backup??

You have to use solder. I take a heavy piece of wire, wrap it around the iron tip and make a much smaller effective iron and tip.
I am looking for surface mount LEDs also, if anybody has any sources.

I know my resistor color codes BBROYGBVGWGS,
but can someone help me identify SMD resistor values?

Thanks

Thanks for the tip on SMD LEDS. I think that they are a better idea.

For DarthRacer, No 3.8 motor can be high speed and torky at the same time without being designed for running times about 30 seconds or less. NiMH would be absolutely mandatory. You may fix your problem by seating the motor, Chap Sticking the gears, and polish and graphite lube the rear axel. I hope that this helps. Also a DansAm body is smarter for the 3.8 due to their lightness. BAE

You carefully align the motor by inserting tiny shims. Toilet paper is good for very small changes. Paper for thicker.
Tiny sells DansAm bodies. BAE

FETs! What was the part number of the FETs you used? I was thinking of doing the same thing, but FETs require a higher "turn-on" voltage than bipolar transistors. And since the supply is only a single cell, I canned that idea. The Zips can sure use a better H-bridge circuit!

Since you are soldering anyway.
How about a Bit circuit board. Give it both the FET and 3 cell mod. Put it in a Zip shell so the 3 batteries are all inside. BAE
