Speed racer mod bit charge

Hello. I have remodified a bus series chassis with its wheels onto a fairlady Z bit Char-g body by takin apart the whole piece, so that now I have a Tomy Bit char-g racer car with the hood, wheels, and all aspects to make it look like the car that comes with the bus series collection of bit char-G racers, but it now has the booster function.

I have put a 3.0 motor into it also. I have tried different gears ratios and different tires between the 3 availiable gear sets and 3 tire sets. Im still testing the results, but have found the 3.0 motor to be super fast, but the medium tires to cause the bit charge to flip, as well as the soft, or hard tires. Regardless of the gearing aspect, the bus still flips.

Im pondering placing heavier "dead weight" objects into the hood, so it will not flip at all.

Has anyone tried this at all.

I have done a super mod with the speed racer go go go series, and have found a phenomenal combination of gears, tires motors etc, so that its so super fast, and still controllable, that its the best piece in my collection.

Anyone have suggestions about how to modify the bus series from tomy so that it will still run optimally?

Making the car heavier will slow you down. You need to find a way to lower the center of gravity to prevent it from rolling over. I'm confused as to what your post says. Do you have a bus body and wheels on a booster car chassis?

yes, I have the front wheels from the bus series. It took taking the bit partially apart, so that I could exchange the from wheel rims to the original bus series rims, since they look different.

Its like the difference between the 57mghz Fairlady Z and the automodellisa set. The rims are different. One is silver and one is grey. My speed racer rip off set had different rims, and I couldnt figure out a way to change it from my booster machine rims. The back is easy to take off since it just snaps on and off, but the front is more difficult since you have to take the bit apart.

I guess back to the originally question, I may just have to add weight to the bitpiece, instead of the body to lower the center of gravity, and maybe get a faster motor to maintain super fast speed.

Thanks for your input, I was gonna add weight to to the body chassis of the bus instead of the bit char-G, but your suggestion makes sense.

keep you posted on how it works out thanks!

atcually you would have to find a way to widen the wheels or the wheelbase like on real cars to lower the center of gravity. I would think of a zz wheel mod or have two sets of real bit titres on your car. I hope i was of assistance.

Thanks,

Jeff

hey temjin,

I have already tried two tires together incidentally, but i couldnt get the two tires on each axle to align. I figured real buses have the double wheels, similiar to an 18 wheeler, but couldnt get them to align properly since one fits over the wheel axle.

I tried pulling the chrome rims off a regular bit, but have messed up the nail or tack that holds it onto the axle part, so will prob stop unless someone knows the trick to that.

I have considered slicing the tires into two halves down the middle, and have one hard thread half, and a medium thread half, on either side of the wheel axel, since if you think about it, the wheel axle has two levels of grade, one thicker portion in the middle so tires fit.

I have found that baby powder on a smooth floor with just the soft tire treads allows the bus hood on a booster machine with a 3.0 engine to be able to do spins. The spin = 3 lefts make a right and vice versa. Meaning if you go all out on speed, making a left will spin your bus car so that it faces right, and you can peel out. But this happens to my speed racer Mach 5 booster. I need to do something that makes a bus corner like it should. (anyone remember how the tank in the 1st Brosnan Bond movie cornered?) here's a link to a tank bit i wanted to get but found out it was too large:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...em=1788920917+

Im considering doing the cut the wheel in the logical half, for the bus and so it will actually look like an 18wheeler tires when viewed from beneath.

I cant really get away with baby powder on the tracks, tho just for fun its possible. Maybe even diff terrain tracks would be fun! Either way, thanks for the suggestions, Im off to figure it out. My goal is to have created 4 distinct cars and a dope track by christmas.

I have tried several track surfaces, but am currently working on getting this bus to run with a unique advantage/disadvantage, as opposed to the speed racer mod I have done already.

let you guys know what i see...and do the same and collaborate on ideas the few who have responded sparked thought on different ends....thanks
