my 3.8 screams. I'm thinkin about stuffing a zz motor in the back but I have had bad luck with mods that involve chasis cutting.

The 3.8 has the highest top end of any motor we've tested, including the ZZs. In addition, you can trade in some top end for torque by swapping gear sets.

hmm since we live in the city and the apartments are smallish (at least the ones i'm in) it looks like a motor with better handling is better than a drag burner - the 2.2 motor seems like a well balanced one.

Unhappy I got the FF ZZ Kit

On my box it says the yellow motor is the NOS one and the Red is the Turbo, I put them in my car and I don't feel any differences from my stock 2.2 from either motor?

Is there something I am missing, or is it the 2 speed setup on my that sucks?

actually

although the "NOS" motor doesnt have as much rpm as the 3.0 its way better have you even tested them??? the torque form the zipzap motors is crazy so it has really quick acceleration and has about the same top speed as the 2.6 , its amazingly fast so before you try to assume something test it out

which would be faster in acceleration a 3.8 with 12:1 blue gears or NOS engine with whatever gears

My experience...

I have/had every motor that's available to me...via web or mail-in catalog.

The most fun combination (atleast with bit char-g's) is the F&F NoS motor with the stock (white) axle gears of the bit char-g and the red pinion gear of the ZZ. Slap some medium texture tires on there and It handles great and has enough speed to keep my 3 cats on their toes! =0)

IMO the aqua gears and pinions from the micro sizers are too much for the NoS motor (unless you plan to drag).

Ricer are you using the yellow ZZ motor as the NOS motor with that setup?

I meant idler gears. My bad...and yes, my bit char-g has white axle and idler gears. I replaced the white (stock) idler gear with the ZipZap Red idler and kept the white axle gear.

Pic anyone? Let me know if this would help.
