What type of batteries are best to use?
Sup yall,
I just got a quick question about the Bit Char-G controllers. Is it possible to use re-chargeable batteries in them? And if so, are there any specific types that are compatible or I should avoid? I just dont want to buy some that end up not working...

I'm running with some nimh aa batteries in my controller, gotta love the life of the batteries, one week to two weeks on regular use before you really need to replace them with charged ones.

If you don't want nimh, try Rayovac rechargable alkaline. I think they have a little more voltage. I run them in my Bit, My ZZ, and my clones, with no problems.

Ok, I'm just wondering why it says in the microsizer manual to not use Nicd batteries and to only use alkaline. Are nicd and nimh the same or similar?

Probably because NiMh and NiCd batteries only give 1.2 V each, Whereas Alkaline batteries are 1.5V. To charge a battery, you need somewhat higher voltage than the battery you are charging, and NiCd/NiMh might not give enough. The Rayovac batteries are rechargeable Alkalines, and give 1.5V, so I would recommend those.
Has anyone tested the range of the car with NiCd vs Alkaline? Presumably, the range should drop off with lower voltage batteries. (Mod suggestion: 3X NiMh batteries in controller for a total of 3.6 V. Might burn out the controller and/or car, but would be fun to test if you have a clone to fry)
