Question Combat Robot???

Ok I know its WAY off topic but i wasnt sure whare else to put it. I just discovered the Kyosho GunWalker Robots and i was wondering a few things about them. Do you have to use that plate that I'm always seeing under them to make them walk or will they walk with out it?? Also do thay have some kind of battle system built in??

Lastly 'cause i know this isnt the right place for a post like this where can i find some good info on these suckers....something other than the generic info found in all of the press releaces and distrobuter ads.

I played with one of these at the hobby show in Chicago. It's kinda cool but yes you need the plate. The feet use an electro-magnet, as it goes to lift it's foot, the magnet is turned off, then back on when it's foot hits the plate. That's how it keeps it's balance.

What I didn't like was there is no laser tag built into it. I would get bored walking around on a steel plate all day.

saw that price tag and was thinking the same thing...NO F@#*&%G WAY!!!.....the only reason i was looking at the GunWalker bots was cause i though "WOW a $150 walking robot." Turns out no such luck.
