Pics of my Real Car!
With all this talk of mini RC cars I kinda forget that some people might appreciate real cars for a change...so here is mine:
Well, it is a '98 Honda Prelude 5speed with AEM intake, Tanabe DTM cat-back exhaust, AEM Pulleys, NGK Plugs + Wires, 17" Konig Traffiks, OEM Front and Side Spoilers, Mugen Rear Skirt, OEM spoiler, Autometer 5" Tach w/ Shiftlite, ITR Gunmetal Shiftknob, Blue Neon on floorboards, Kenwood Audio Stuff, Custom Blue Valve Cover.....the car is VERY clean, not a typical rice burner by any means. I have only a few stickers (for my shop and my club) and nothing on the outside that you see on every other ****ty-ass rice burner out there (for example, no altezza's or windshield nozzle lights.) Overall I love my car and I believe in keeping it clean!

heh sweet.
I have a '95 del Sol Si...haven't done NEthing to speak of to her yet, my parents don't believe a car is any more than from point A to point B, so I'm avoiding doing a lot til I move out of their house to prevent a lot of arguments...so I have an air intake, hella-loud air horn (part of it, part of it actually is installed), Kaminari wing, and JDM sunvisor conversion kit (part of it, part of it on backorder...) sitting at my b/f's house The day I move out, the night after my car will transform! And then my parents can't do diddly.
Info on what I do have, pics at http://www.teamdelsol.com/members/de...=1027827362634

I'll never understand why people feel they need the big hula-hoop tach with a shift light. No offense buddy, but its a Honda, not a Nitro funny car.
Other than that, very nice.

Well two reasons I have it:
1: My stock tach is WAY off when you hit high RPMs (off by as much as 800 RPM)
2: The shiftlite does wonders for drag racing and auto-x. I dont have to look at anything besides the road/course and a blue light will let me know when to shift as opposed to taking my eyers off the road to look......so it is very functional

Fair enough. If you Auto-X with it or drag, then I can see the need. You didnt mention that you raced in your initial post, so I assumed that your car was solely a streeter, which would make the tach pointless. Its good to see someone taking pride in not ricing out their car (I agree with you, Altezzas and Sprayer lights are tacky). Like I said before, very nice.
Sorry to jump down your throat like that, but 99% of Hondas I see with the big tachs never leave the street, so I just assumed the same since you didnt mention you raced.

are you gonna do any other engine mods other than a intake and a catback? i didnt really read it carefully. cuz no offense but there are so many sorry wannabes out there. all they do is get a bod kit and some rims and a muffler and they think the're bad ass. im not implying that you are of course. just asking. looks clean though. i prefer rex's though.

yes I plan on doing more, but I am a college student and there isnt always money just laying around.....a few reasons I am not a wannabe....
1. 5speed 5th gen Preludes are very quick stock (unlike civics, neons, tegs, focus' and all those other cars people try to make fast)
2. I have an intake, full catback (not just crappy muffler) pulleys, and upgraded ignition....this is just the start
3. My car is clean, as you can see, it doesnt look THAT far from stock on the outside, the bodykit is OEM with exception to the rear skirt, and the wheels are clean (as opposed to cars with altezzas, stickers all over, cheese grater bodykits....etc.....)
4. Anyway, I dont street race so I dont need to impress anyone like that...the Prelude rules on roadcourses...and for you sceptics, a few years ago Car & Driver did an article about the best handling cars....in the under $30,000 category the Prelude was THE BEST...in the under $60,000 catergory the Prelude was 3rd (M3 and S4 beat it) That is pretty impressive.....

it's a good start, and it is clean. i like that gen lude a lot. i have to disagree a bit and say that a near stock lude isn't that fast. they do handle quite well as you mentioned though.
i have a 92 civic hb SM autoX car i've built up. it recently dynoed 130whp/120wlbft. it runs a high 14sec quarter... and is slow IMO.

Well I said Quick...not fast!!! I know they are not that fast from the factory, but for a 2.2L 4 cyl. they are quite quick. For its class it is very fast however if you look at the competition there.....
My car runs mid to high 14's (usually about a 14.7-14.8) so it is not that fast but still respectable.

IMO, the bodykit around the sides and rear make it look like it has fat rolls...sorry, couldn't resist
Nice car.
