is there anything wrong with storing or keeping a bit on the side of the controler like it was charging, but with the controller off?

i found a few good cheap storage solutions at walmart
in the sporting goods section i found a plano small tackle box that holds 5 bits with a top tray for hop up parts
also another that is large enough for the smaller one to fint inside along with controllers ,batteries and whatever else i need and plenty of room to spare
paid around $9 for both

I got a plano for $2.10 after tax. It fits in your pocket which is nice. Had to mod it slightly. The storage space is insane. There are 8 comparments capable of holding a motor, idol gear and axle in each compartment and two other compartments on the other side for tires and such. The Bit fits snuggly and won't move around but is not jammed in there. Will post the pics eventually.

WOW man that rocks! Where did you get it? I take my Bits to school daily and my spoiler on my supra broke because it rubbed agaist my leg. I managed to fix it and it looks ok now. But if I had that, some of my cars would not be in the shape they are now. I need that so badly! Tell me where you got it!

The local wal mart. It is a plano double sided tackel box with a few compartments removed. I did th whole deal for the same reason, fear of the spoiler falling off and the space is great.

I went to The Container Store [here in Rockville, MD, as mentioned on The Admiral's Lair] and got a somewhat larger box which I will use to hold bits, MS, and ZZ, as well as all my hop-up parts. The only problem will be the controllers, which I will have to store in a different box.
I even got this nice foam to put on the bottoms [and possibly tops] of the compartments.

Found a new box for all my bits
Plano Guide Series 3645 Waterproof Stowaway Accesory Box
got it at Sports Authority for $3.99
holds a control regular or 4 frequency
and 4 to 8 bits / bodies and room to spare for parts
and also has a rubber gasket to keep water out
bought a bag that holds 5 of these boxes
so i dont think ill run out of room anytime soon
